Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this fast-paced era people do not have time to do their house work or take care of their kids that is why they prefer to have servant at their home. I think it is effective way to open opportunity for others to do work and it is depend on person availability that they ought to be done their work by own or by others. In upcoming paragraphs, I will discuss both questions with reason.

On the one hand, there are a number of causes to support former view. Firstly, hiring maid at home is appropriate especially illiterate people. Because they can not do any office work or in any organization therefore it is good for them to do work at someone's home. For example, India's most famous businessman Mr. Ambani. He hired many workers for doing their domestic work such as Kitchen staff, Cleaning Staff and gardener. Secondly, it can be a acceptable approach for youngsters who enroll themselves in Hotel management or in Nanny course. To explain it, in order to get hand on training they can start to do work at other's home and earn good income along with experience.

On the other hand, if folks are well maintained and they afford then definitely they should appoint to workers to do their house chores. As a reason, family members can save their time and they can spend this moment with their family member. To examamplify, it is common when individual invite their relatives then it is hard to sit with them while doing kitchen work but when they hire to someone then with freely mind they can enjoy with their love ones.

In conclusion, it is personal choice to have housekeeper but according to my opinion it is good measure to provide employment to any needy people as it can prove win-win situation for both employer and employees.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of providing work for others and the question of whether people should perform these tasks themselves. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'illiterate people' is a bit simplistic, and the example of Mr. Ambani is not fully explained in relation to the broader social impact. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the reasoning behind your points with more nuanced analysis rather than relying on brief examples. The conclusion effectively summarizes your stance, but the overall depth of the argument could be improved by exploring the potential downsides or societal implications more thoroughly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Firstly', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and some transitions feel abrupt. For example, the connection between the introduction and the first body paragraph could be smoother. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'it is depend on person availability', which lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will help improve the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fast-paced era', 'domestic work', and 'win-win situation'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'it is depend on person availability', 'well maintained' (when referring to people), and 'examamplify' (which is not a standard word). Some phrasing is repetitive, and the vocabulary lacks the precision required for higher bands. To improve, focus on learning collocations—words that naturally go together—and avoid inventing words. Expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary related to labor and social responsibility would also be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('it is depend'), article usage ('hiring maid'), and awkward phrasing ('they ought to be done their work by own'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in sentence construction that affect the overall accuracy. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of passive voice, as these are essential for expressing your ideas clearly. Reviewing your work for these specific errors before finishing would significantly improve your score.
