Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is increasing common for people to pay others to perform tasks they either dislike or do not have sufficient time to complete, such as cleaning their homes or caring for children. Although this practice creates valuable employment opportunities, I believe that people should retain responsibility for essential personal and family duties whenever their circumstances allow.

One significant advantage of outsourcing domestic tasks is that it provides a source of income for people who work in cleaning, childcare and other household services. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals who have limited formal qualification pr need flexible employment. At the same time, paying someone to perform time- consuming chores allows busy professionals to concentrate on their famailies. Therefore, this arrangement can benefit both service providers and those who enjoy them.

However, there are certain responsibilities that people should not routinely delegate.

Parents, For example, should remain actively involved in raising their children because emotional support, guidance and family interaction cannot be replaced entirely by paid carers. similarly, relying excessively on others for basic household responsibilities may make individuals less independent and create unnecessary financial pressure.

In conclusion, paying others to perform unwanted or time -consuming tasks is a legitimate way of creating employment and managing a busy lifestyle. Neverthless , People should strike a balance and personally undertake important family and everyday responsibilities whenever posssible.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the benefits of providing work and the necessity of personal involvement. However, the essay falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement (225 words), which limits the depth of development. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat brief. To improve, you should expand on your examples—for instance, by explaining exactly how outsourcing childcare impacts family dynamics or providing a more detailed scenario regarding financial pressure. Because the response is under-length, it cannot reach the higher bands for task achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Although', 'At the same time', and 'However' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by minor punctuation errors, such as the space before the comma in 'Parents, For example' and 'time -consuming'. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring consistent paragraph structure would help elevate this score.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'outsourcing', 'domestic tasks', and 'legitimate'. There are a few spelling errors, such as 'famailies' and 'Neverthless', and a minor collocation error ('enjoy them' instead of 'employ them'). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the sophistication and precision required for higher bands. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure you proofread for spelling accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as the conditional 'whenever their circumstances allow'. There are several grammatical and punctuation slips, including 'It is increasing common' (should be 'increasingly'), 'qualification pr need' (typo), and inconsistent capitalization (e.g., 'Parents, For example'). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and proofreading for small mechanical errors to improve your accuracy.
