It is sometimes possible to pay somebody to do things you don't want to do, or don't have time to do, for example, household chores or looking after children.
Is this a good way of providing work for others?
Should people do these things themselves?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
I think this is a good way of providing work for others as long as you pay them for doing your work. I am an international student in canada and i studying and working together sometimes its very hard for me to cook and do my assignments which take hours to complete so i started a tiffin service for myself because health is very important for me. Sometimes i also pay for the assignment to someone who usually make all my assignment.
There are many things that i beleive that should by themselves such as taking care of your own children. Household chores can be taken care of by other person if you dont want to do them but nurturing your children by yourself is important because i dont like these nany systems because i believe that your children will love your nanny more than you which is a very scary thing for me.
In my country people often hire maid to do household chores even when they can do that things by themselves. Leaving your resposiblities or your work for someone else is a sign of laziness according to me.
I think these days people become very lazy and boring they dont want to do anything out of their laziness doing your own household chores and taking care of your children is important that we do that buy ourselves because some people take advantage of these things. Some maids stole money from the houses in they work so i think it is vey important for everybody to be active in their lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, but the development is uneven. While you provide personal examples, such as the tiffin service, the argument regarding paying for assignments is problematic as it touches on academic integrity, which distracts from the core task. The discussion on childcare and household chores is relevant, but the ideas are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. To improve, ensure your arguments are balanced and fully explored. For instance, instead of focusing on personal laziness, discuss the broader socio-economic implications of outsourcing labor. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments need more academic rigor and less reliance on personal anecdotes.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your train of thought. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited and mechanical. You rely heavily on simple conjunctions like 'and' or 'because', and there is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect ideas between sentences and paragraphs. For example, the transition between the topic of tiffin services and childcare is abrupt. To achieve a higher band, try using a wider variety of cohesive devices such as 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'on the other hand', or 'in contrast' to improve the flow and logical progression of your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You use basic terms like 'good', 'important', and 'lazy' repeatedly. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'nany systems' (nanny services) and 'do that things' (do those things). To improve, focus on using more academic vocabulary and collocations. For example, instead of saying 'people become very lazy', you could use 'a sedentary lifestyle' or 'a lack of personal accountability'. Expanding your vocabulary will help you express your ideas with more nuance and sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people often hire maid'), missing articles, and punctuation errors, such as run-on sentences. For example, 'I am an international student in canada and i studying and working together sometimes its very hard...' lacks proper punctuation and correct verb forms. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct capitalization, verb tenses, and the use of articles. Proofreading for these recurring errors will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
