Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent times, Individual has different responsibilities such as finances, job, parenting and social. Thus, it is difficult to manage time. In my perspective, it is absolutely fine to pay for household chores or looking after children.

It is suitable to have househelper to assist in daily household chores and taking care of children. Househelpers usually are from lower income households and they need money for survival.

For instance, females who are less literate dont have any income source to support the family. Therefore, it is essential for them to work. Most lf the familities in recent times have both working parents and it becomes hectic for them to give quality time to children, cook and perform household chores.

However, household chores are part of daily routine. If people can do themselves, it aids in better mental and physical wellbeing. Families can share the responsibilities amongst the members. This also saves money and can create healthy environment. Parents can create example for their children to perform household chores as part of responsibilty. Child care individuals usually dont pay much attention and concern compared to parents. Values and discipline if incuculated from the young age would always mould children into responsible adults.

In conclusion, it totally depends on the individual preference and situation if househelper has to be hired or the work has to be done by themselves. It should create better community and upbringing to childrenabd holistic future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the benefits of providing employment and the arguments for performing tasks personally. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited, and the essay falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the overall task achievement. While the position is clear, the arguments could be more extensively supported with more detailed examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The conclusion is brief and lacks a strong summary of the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'For instance', 'However', and 'In conclusion', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The progression of ideas is generally logical, moving from the benefits of hiring help to the advantages of self-reliance. However, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be improved to create a more cohesive and natural-sounding argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'househelper' (instead of 'domestic worker' or 'household help') and 'child care individuals' (instead of 'nannies' or 'childcare providers'). Spelling errors like 'familities', 'incuculated', and 'childrenabd' also detract from the overall quality. To improve, you should focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring accurate spelling of key terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as missing articles ('Individual has', 'create example'), subject-verb agreement issues ('Child care individuals usually dont pay'), and punctuation errors. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Increasing the variety of complex structures and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would significantly improve your performance.
