Student answer (Band 6.0)
IN modern society, many people have extremely busy lifestyles, so they sometimes pay others to complete household chores or look after their children. While this can create valuable employment opportunities, I believe that people should still take responsibility for important tasks themselves whenever possible.
On the one hand, paying someone to do household work can be a positive way of providing employment. Many people earn their livelihood by working as clearness, gardeners, domestic helpers or babysitters. Therefore, hiring them can provide a stable source of income and improve their standard of living. In addition, professional help can save a great deal of time for people who have a demanding jobs. For example, a working couple may employ a cleaner take care of the house, allowing them to focus on their careers and spend more time with their family.
On the other hand, there are certain responsibilities that people should not completely transfer to others. Parents, in particular, should be actively involved in raising their children. Although, babysitter can provide care, children also need attention, guidance and emotional support from their parents. Similarly, every family member should contribute to basic household chores. Doing tasks such as cooking and washing clothes can teach children valuable lessons about independence and responsibility.
In my point of view, hiring someone is a reasonable choice when people genuinely lack time or need professional assistance. However, it should not become an excuse for avoiding all domestic responsibilities. People should maintain a balance between outsides help and managing essential duties themselves.
In conclusion, paying others to perform household tasks and is an effective way of their creative employments and saving time. Nevertheless, individuals should continue to take responsibility for important family duties, particularly child care , because these responsibilities pay an crucial role in maintaining strong family relationships.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position on both the economic benefits of hiring help and the personal necessity of maintaining family responsibilities. The ideas are relevant and logically developed. For example, the argument regarding child development and the need for parental involvement is well-supported. The response maintains a consistent position throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points. To reach a higher band, the student could provide more specific, real-world examples to further extend the arguments, rather than relying on general statements about 'working couples' or 'family members'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the two sides of the argument. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'In addition', and 'Nevertheless' are used to guide the reader through the text. However, there are minor issues with cohesion, such as the awkward phrasing in the final paragraph: 'paying others to perform household tasks and is an effective way of their creative employments'. This slightly disrupts the flow. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'livelihood', 'demanding jobs', and 'emotional support'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'clearness' instead of 'cleaners' and 'outsides help' instead of 'outside help'. The phrase 'creative employments' is also misused. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations to reach a higher band. The vocabulary is sufficient but lacks the sophistication required for a band 8.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical slips, such as 'a demanding jobs' (article error), 'babysitter can' (missing article), and 'pay an crucial role' (article error). Additionally, the sentence 'paying others to perform household tasks and is an effective way' contains a redundant 'and'. Despite these errors, the meaning is always clear, and the grammar does not prevent the reader from understanding the argument. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles.
