Student answer (Band 6.0)

From last two decades, as technology has changed the entire world process, people have also grown professionally with their work attitude. Some group of proponents think to save their time it is practical to pay someone to complete their some responsibilities, whereas other group of thinkers have opposite view. I will discuss both the opinions in below passage.

Workers who work daily for 9-10 hours of shift find difficulties to manage everything on their shoulders. To maintain work-life balance they prefer to hire someone on hourly basis to complete their daily household chores. The helper can complete cleaning, food preparation, buy grocery and some regular tasks on behalf of them, they can focus more on their job which ultimately helps them to grow in their career. Specially parents who has kids they mostly prefer to hire person for baby sitting, they are tension free while working. The Baby sitter will look after baby's hygiene, time to time meal and manage their sleeping patterns as well. Parents prefer to hire baby sitter for long term period as baby gets comfortable and used to with same person. This approach provide employments for helper, baby sitter or personal social workers, its a win-win situation for corporate people and parents. Governments and corporates also provide tax benefits if you are hiring someone as helper on a regular basis.

Some group of worker also believe that hiring someone as a helper its a waste of money or person's laziness. If person works for 9-10 hours of shift they need to learn time management to complete their regular tasks or pending work. As per research, human body needs 7-8 hours of sleep to work for another 15 hours, if person manages to get up early from bed then they can complete their task before starting their job or they can manage to complete task they are off for the day.

In my opinion, I am neutral that helper or baby sitter is a good option to manage work and personal life but one should not completely depend on

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of providing work for others and the perspective on whether people should perform these tasks themselves. However, the development is somewhat uneven. While the first body paragraph provides clear examples of how hiring help benefits both the worker and the service provider, the second paragraph is less focused, focusing more on time management advice than a direct argument against hiring help. The conclusion is incomplete, which prevents a full summary of your position. To reach a higher band, ensure that your conclusion is fully developed and that your arguments are balanced in depth.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'whereas', 'ultimately', and 'in my opinion'. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by mechanical phrasing, such as 'From last two decades' and 'Some group of proponents'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between ideas could be smoother. The abrupt ending of the essay significantly impacts the overall coherence, as the final thought is left hanging. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, finished concluding sentence would enhance the logical progression of your arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'work-life balance', 'corporate people', and 'time management'. However, there are several instances of awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'world process', 'on behalf of them', and 'person's laziness' (which should be 'a sign of laziness'). Some phrasing is repetitive, and there is a lack of more sophisticated, less common lexical items. To improve, focus on learning collocations—for example, instead of 'do tasks', use 'perform duties' or 'carry out responsibilities'—and ensure that your word forms are accurate in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the helper', 'the baby sitter'), subject-verb agreement ('parents who has kids'), and prepositional usage ('used to with'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some run-on sentences that could be improved by using semicolons or splitting them into two. The error frequency is noticeable, though it does not impede communication. To progress, work on consistent article usage and ensure that complex sentences are constructed with greater precision.
