Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, it is so normal for people to just pay somebody to do things which they don't want to, or mostly they don't have time to do. In my opinion, this is not a bad way to get things done, although people should take some responsibility for their own household duties and children.

Firstly, hiring someone to do household chores gives opportunities to other people to earn for themselves. on top of that you get more time to do your job and earn some more money. We can iinvest those money for ourselves or in most necessary things which makes our life more easier and comfortable. if we hirre someone to take care of our own children we dont have to keep worrying about them when we are outside of the home or even at job, which makes our job smoother and tension-free.

however, I also think that as a human being we should also take some responsibilities for our own household things, as we are the one staying in that house not the person we are hiring. For example, doing small things by ourselfves like dishes, laundry, making bed these are the things that should be done everyday. keeping our house clean makes our mind on ease. In addition, taking care of our own children is the most memorable and priceless thing. Our children wont feel alone or abandoned which creates a childhood trauma when they grow up.

In conclusion, it is not bag thing to hire someone to do our own household work and taking care of our own children as long as we take some part of the responsibilities on us as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the economic benefit of hiring help and the personal responsibility of performing household tasks. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding economic benefits is brief, and the discussion on child-rearing could be more deeply explored with more sophisticated reasoning. While the response covers all requirements, the supporting points remain at a somewhat superficial level, which prevents it from reaching a higher band. The conclusion is a bit repetitive, merely restating the prompt rather than synthesizing the arguments presented.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'on top of that', 'however', and 'in conclusion'. However, some of these transitions feel slightly mechanical or are used with minor errors, such as the lowercase 'on' at the start of a sentence. The progression of ideas is generally easy to follow, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and better referencing to avoid repetitive sentence structures. Paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be more sophisticated.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. There are several spelling errors, such as 'iinvest', 'hirre', and 'bag' (instead of 'bad'). The student relies on basic vocabulary like 'things', 'do', and 'get', which limits the ability to express more complex ideas. While the meaning is always clear, the lack of variety and the presence of spelling mistakes prevent a higher score. To improve, the student should focus on using more precise verbs and nouns related to the topic, such as 'delegating', 'domestic responsibilities', or 'financial independence'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('these are the things that should be done', 'makes our life more easier'), punctuation errors (missing commas, lowercase letters at the start of sentences), and awkward phrasing ('makes our mind on ease'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. The student needs to focus on proofreading for basic punctuation and ensuring that comparative structures are used correctly (e.g., 'easier' instead of 'more easier').
