Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the economic benefits of hiring help and the circumstances under which individuals might choose to do so. However, the development is somewhat superficial. While you mention that it is a 'win-win situation' and cite examples like senior citizens or working couples, the arguments lack depth and specific supporting evidence. The position is clear, but the analysis remains at a general level. To improve, ensure that each point is fully extended with more detailed reasoning or concrete examples to demonstrate a more thorough engagement with the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To start with', 'Additionally', 'Furthermore', and 'To conclude'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the second and third paragraphs. Referencing is generally clear, but the sentence structure within paragraphs could be improved to ensure smoother transitions between ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'early childhood educators', 'hygienic', and 'qualified personnel'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are occasional inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'looking it from a distant' (should be 'looking at it from a distance') and 'disability are situations' (should be 'disability are circumstances'). To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise and varied vocabulary to express your ideas with greater sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'in modern and busy world' (in the modern and busy world) and 'those who needs' (those who need). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some missing commas after introductory phrases. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and refining your use of complex structures.
