Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, people are living with a busy lifestyle. Some people hire paid workers for their household chores and to look after their children because they do not have much time to do these tasks or do not want to do such tasks. In my opinion, it is a positive way to provide good employment opportunities but people still have pay attention to some important family duties.

Firstly, some people or families work high demand jobs due to which they do not get time to do household chores, cook food and take care of their children. Such kind of people hire paid workers to do all these tasks which is a good employment opportunity for less uneducated people for their better living. For example, rich families hire such kind of paid workers for household chores and for childcare those do not have advanced education but the practical skills and knowledge due to which such hired people get employed and support their family and educate their children.

Secondly, paying people to clean house, preparing meals and taking care of children can save considerable time of people. By the professional help, people can concentrate on their carerr and work more effectively. But this does not mean that people should completely rely on workers for such tasks because it is important to pay attention to their children and take responsibilities of important family duties.

In my own experience, people who are busy with their work and do not get time for their family and children, hire nany who take care of their chidren and completely rely on them about child's raising. Due to which, they can save their time but losing their quality time with their children and family.

In conclusion, hiring paid workers can save people's valuable time but people shoul

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the economic benefit of providing work and the personal responsibility of household/childcare tasks. The position is clear from the introduction. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The argument regarding employment opportunities is well-supported with the example of rich families hiring workers. The second part, regarding whether people should do these things themselves, is addressed but lacks depth in the conclusion, which is incomplete. The essay ends abruptly, failing to provide a final summary or a fully rounded argument. To reach a higher band, ensure all points are fully developed and the conclusion is complete.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central idea. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing and some mechanical transitions. For instance, the transition 'Due to which' is used incorrectly as a sentence starter. Referencing is generally clear, but the abrupt ending of the essay significantly impacts the overall coherence, as the final thought is left hanging. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring complete sentence structures would enhance the logical progression.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'employment opportunities' and 'concentrate on their career'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'less uneducated people' (which is confusing) and 'nany' (spelling error). The phrase 'take responsibilities of' should be 'take responsibility for'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the range is limited, and the errors occasionally draw attention to the language rather than the content.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the' household chores), subject-verb agreement, and preposition usage (e.g., 'pay attention to some important family duties'). Some sentences are clunky, such as 'Such kind of people hire paid workers'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, the student should focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb forms.
