Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is really challenging to keep work-life balance in today's busy life. This Can be resolved by hiring a house help, or paying someone to take care of house and children. Although it is essential to do basic chores on your won, this can eventually become a way of creating work opportunities for some people. This essay will discuss both the view points.
Finding job in this economy is getting tough everyday. So, this can be a really amazing way to provide some work for others. To begin with, with challenging times if both the parents are working to run the household, it is difficult to find time to do basic chores. This not only includes taking care of children, but also house. This way they can make sure that their children has been taken care of without compromising. Additionally, sometimes some people dose not know some things, like cooking. So, if they are earning good income, they will hire someone to do that instead. This not only solves the issue, but also provide job opportunity to someone. So, this can be a great way to provide work for someone.
On the other hand, people should learn basic household chores. If someone hires a house help for all the small things, then they might not learn some basic life skills like, cooking, cleaning, and organizing. It is really essential to learn these things to take care of yourself. For example, if the times like Covid returns, and no one would be allowed to go out, it can get really difficult to survive, if one dose not know basic skills. Moreover, taking care of the children helps one to raise them with their values instead of leaving them with unknown. Hence, it is crucial to learn doing things own our own.
In conclusion, some people prefers to hire people to do things they either don't know or like to do. This can provide a way of earning for some people. However, it is also necessary to learn basic skills for your own survival.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the economic benefit of providing work and the personal necessity of learning life skills. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the argument about providing work is restated multiple times in the second paragraph without adding new depth. While the ideas are relevant, they could be more fully extended with more specific examples or nuanced analysis. The conclusion effectively summarizes the two viewpoints, but the overall development remains at a standard level, fitting the criteria for a band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Additionally', 'On the other hand', and 'Hence' are used to guide the reader through the arguments. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing (e.g., 'this can be a really amazing way' is vague). The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the internal structure of the second paragraph is slightly cluttered, which affects the flow. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and the logical flow is maintained throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary such as 'work-life balance', 'household chores', and 'job opportunity'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there is some repetition of basic words like 'things' and 'someone'. There are also minor errors in word choice, such as 'dose not know' (should be 'does not') and 'earning good income' (should be 'earning a good income'). The lexical range is sufficient to communicate the message, but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'some people dose not know', 'some people prefers') and article usage (e.g., 'Finding job', 'in today's busy life'). Punctuation is generally functional, though there are some awkward phrasings like 'learn doing things own our own'. The errors are noticeable but do not impede communication. To reach a higher band, the student needs to demonstrate more consistent control over basic grammatical rules and increase the frequency of error-free complex sentences.
