Student answer (Band 5.0)
As countries develop, people tend to buy more and more cars. Do you think the advantages for the individual outweigh the disadvantages for the environment?
As economies grow, there is a strong inclination among the citizens to purchase more vehicles. I strongly believe that negative consequences on the environment far more outweigh the advantages for an individual, and this essay will elaborate on the reasons behind this statement.
It is undeniable that purchasing a car can benefits an owner in numerous ways. For instance, a person not only reduces daily commute time to the job significantly, but also enhances their travel experience. They can independently design their daily schedule of traveling regardless of considering the public transport time-table.
However, on the other side, increasing number of vehicles creates severe environmental strain. While governments are promoting electric vehicles, a major segment of the population tends to prioritize non-electric cars due to low cost and convinience. This tendency results in the air-pollution that severely damages health of the citizens. The impact is so gradual that people do not realize until their health gets affected permanently. A pertinent illustration of this is that the people of the New Delhi struggle from polluted air due to rise in number of vehicles in a city.
Moreover, when citizens purchase more vehicles, it creates infrastructural strain and compels governments to build more highways to prevent traffic and accommodate large number of vehicle. Consequently, it results in deforestation.
To conclude, even though there are some benefits behind owning a car or a motorcycle, targeted measures should be impelemented to prevent damages to the environment, such as promoting the public transport infrastructure and educating people about impact on the nature.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 1.0
The response is completely off-topic. The prompt asks about the ethics and implications of paying others to perform household chores or childcare. However, your essay discusses the environmental impact of purchasing cars. Because you have failed to address the task instructions entirely, the response cannot be assessed for task achievement in relation to the prompt provided. In an actual IELTS examination, this would result in a very low score for Task Response as the content is irrelevant to the specific question asked. You must ensure you read the prompt carefully and identify the core topic before beginning to write.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
Despite being off-topic, the essay itself is structured logically. You use clear paragraphing, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'For instance', 'However', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude' are used appropriately to link ideas. The progression of arguments is clear, and the internal logic of the essay is sound. If the content had matched the prompt, this would be a well-organized piece of writing. The main issue remains the lack of relevance to the task instructions.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a good range of vocabulary, including terms like 'inclination', 'undeniable', 'infrastructural strain', and 'deforestation'. There are some minor errors, such as 'convinience' (spelling) and 'impelemented' (spelling). You also use 'benefits' as a verb incorrectly in 'can benefits an owner'. However, the vocabulary is generally sufficient to convey your ideas clearly. To reach a higher band, focus on more precise collocations and ensure spelling accuracy for common academic words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'While governments are promoting electric vehicles, a major segment of the population tends to prioritize non-electric cars'. There are some grammatical slips, such as 'far more outweigh' (should be 'far outweigh') and 'large number of vehicle' (should be 'vehicles'). Punctuation is generally accurate. The grammar is functional and rarely impedes communication, though it lacks the consistent control required for higher bands.
