Should people do these things themselves?

Student answer (Band 6.0)
Hiring people for household chores like cooking, cleaning or baby sitting is common among people with busy schedules or when you have sufficient resources and don't feel like working. I believe it is extremely beneficial for people requiring such services and a good source of income for the service providers.
It is a difficult task to maintain a work-life balance when you have to work long shifts and household chores all by yourself. For example, a working couple with children require daycare facilities or babysitters to take care of their kids during their work hours. Moreover, when they come back from work they can hire help to manage the house so they are able to find time for themselves and their family.
Although it is always ideal if people take care of their family and home by themselves because here are many issues associated with house help like theft, negligence and criminal activities. However, for people with a good financial background and free time, household work can keep you engaged and healthy, Hiring help for household creates job opportunities for people who want to make a living without any proper educational degree.
To sum up, I believe it is important to do your work by yourself but only if it doesn't burn you out. Rather than living a robot life which impacts your health. It is better to seek help. It will not only help you out but also the people who don't have degrees to start their job

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the benefits of hiring help and the counter-argument for doing tasks oneself. However, the essay is slightly under the 250-word minimum, which impacts the depth of development. While the position is clear, the arguments are somewhat brief. For instance, the point about 'criminal activities' is mentioned but not fully explored or balanced against the benefits. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your examples and ensure that the discussion of both questions is more balanced and detailed. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and lacks a strong final summary of your position.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'Although', and 'To sum up' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the progression of ideas feels slightly disjointed, particularly in the third paragraph where the transition between the risks of hiring help and the benefits of household work is abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'work-life balance', 'daycare facilities', and 'financial background'. However, there are some instances of slightly unnatural phrasing, such as 'living a robot life' and 'without any proper educational degree'. The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary. Avoid informal expressions and ensure that your word choices are consistently appropriate for a formal essay context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'household work can keep you engaged and healthy, Hiring help...' (a comma splice) and 'a working couple... require' (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some missing commas and incorrect sentence boundaries. To improve, focus on mastering complex sentence structures and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement and punctuation. Increasing the frequency of error-free sentences will help you achieve a higher score.
