Student answer (Band 5.0)

The possibility to pay someone to get your things done or when you do not have enough time because of hectic schedules are increasing day by day.

As per my belief, It considers as a help that we may need in some situations such as taking care of children and finishing household chores.

The one reason is in relation with the foreign workers who works longer hours of time to pay mortgages / Taking care of the family expenses and more. Such circumstances forces people to go opt for another options. If I take instance from my own knowledge, It would proves it perfectly. An Indian family from my neighbourhood who is a family of four needs to higher someone to look after their 5 months old and 2 year old kids as they do not have their parents with them. Since their financial condition were not good pushes them to pay someone for their care.

The another main reason is international students who are married and have kids. Their mother is a housewife and alone to do all their household chores. postpartum depression makes them to hire Maid to feel relaxed and stress free. Additionally, father was the only bread earner works as truck driver. Since she

got help in household duties, She is getting recovered and feels much better

than before. Her mental stress is relieved and women able to take care of herself more.

Not Last but least, Taking help from people by paying them is not a bad idea.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the benefits of outsourcing tasks and providing a perspective on whether people should do these things themselves. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The examples provided, such as the Indian family and the international student, are relevant but lack depth in connecting back to the broader societal implications of the prompt. The position is clear, but the argument could be more robustly supported with more sophisticated reasoning. The conclusion is very brief and does not effectively summarize the main points or provide a final synthesis of the arguments presented.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is sometimes disjointed. While there are attempts at cohesive devices (e.g., 'The one reason', 'The another main reason', 'Additionally'), they are often used mechanically or incorrectly, such as 'The another main reason' and 'Not Last but least'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks the necessary cohesion to guide the reader smoothly through the points being made.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'needs to higher someone' (hire), 'go opt for another options', and 'only bread earner'. These errors occasionally impede the flow of the text. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'postpartum depression' and 'mortgages', the overall lexical control is limited, and the repetition of basic structures and words is noticeable throughout the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('foreign workers who works', 'circumstances forces'), incorrect verb tenses ('It would proves'), and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and sentence boundaries. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the response from reaching a higher band. More attention to proofreading for subject-verb agreement and tense consistency is required.
