Should people do these things themselves?

Student answer (Band 6.5)
In today's world, everyone needs job to survive and get food on the table. It is increasingly common in this century to pay other people and getting the things done rather than spending time on something that you are not expert at. However, I believe that there should be some chores that are to be done yourself and one should not be dependent on others for everything.
First and foremost, everyone is working, be it a man or a woman and at the end of the day it is exhausting to do extra chores and not getting enough time to relax yourself. Hiring other people would definitely help you to take some time off of things. For an instance, one can hire a cleaner who would deep clean your house and meanwhile you can spend some time with your family. It is gonna create an employment for them on which they rely in order to feed themselves.
On the other hand, I have a strong opinion that people should do the basic household chores themselves, at least the ones that they can manage to do. Along with that, the core part of the family is the bond they share. If people start hiring babysitters for their children then they won't get enough time to spend with the babies which will eventually weaken their bond as the baby grows up. A recent study at Oxford stated that the percentage of children feeling distant from the families because they didn't spend time with the parents as much has increased by 10%.
To conclude, people should try and do as many chores by themselves as they can. However, relying on someone for the things that you are unable to do is not a bad thing either. It is going to create an employment opportunity for someone who is in need.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of providing employment and the necessity of performing tasks oneself. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the 'Oxford study' is a good attempt at supporting the point, but the explanation of why hiring help is a 'good way of providing work' is slightly superficial. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the socio-economic impact of service-sector employment or provide more nuanced examples of how balancing these responsibilities affects personal development. The conclusion effectively summarizes your stance, but the overall depth of analysis remains at a functional level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two main arguments. Cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical. For example, the transition between the idea of hiring a cleaner and the concept of employment could be smoother. Referencing is generally clear, though some sentences feel slightly disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence builds directly upon the previous one would enhance the overall cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'employment opportunity', 'exhausting', and 'dependent'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'getting the things done' (should be 'getting things done') and 'create an employment' (should be 'create employment'). While you attempt to use some less common vocabulary, the overall range is somewhat restricted. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding informal phrasing like 'gonna'. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic or topic-specific terminology would help you achieve a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'everyone needs job' (missing article 'a'), 'relax yourself' (unnecessary reflexive pronoun), and 'the percentage of children feeling distant... has increased' (the sentence structure is slightly clunky). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. You show control over basic structures, but your use of complex sentences is not always error-free. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
