Student answer (Band 5.0)
Many times it is worth paying for the things you do not prefer to do or have the time for, which includes daily routine work or raising kids. I fully agree with this phenomenon due to the following reasons discussed in the essay.
To commence with, it is a commendable way as it gives an opportunity for many people to earn their livelihood, such as maids and caregivers. A personal maid can do all the household chores and correctly manage everything; on the other hand, a caregiver can nourish and develop children whenever the parents are busy with their work. Another advantage of this is that in this era, no one has the time to do their daily chores by themselves, so they someone to help them .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 136 words. Consequently, the task is not fully addressed, and the ideas remain underdeveloped. While the student attempts to answer both parts of the prompt—discussing the economic benefit of hiring help and the personal aspect of doing chores—the lack of length prevents a full exploration of these points. The conclusion is incomplete, cutting off mid-sentence, which further impacts the development of the argument. To improve, the student must expand on their points with specific examples and ensure the essay reaches the minimum length requirement to allow for a comprehensive response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows a basic attempt at logical organization, using transition signals like 'To commence with' and 'To conclude'. However, the progression is severely hampered by the incomplete nature of the text. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is unfinished, which disrupts the overall flow. Cohesive devices are used in a somewhat mechanical way. To achieve a higher score, the student needs to ensure that ideas are fully developed within each paragraph and that the essay structure is complete, including a coherent introduction, well-supported body paragraphs, and a finished conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic. Phrases like 'daily routine work' and 'earn their livelihood' are functional but lack the sophistication expected at higher bands. There are some minor issues with word choice, such as 'nourish and develop children,' which is slightly unnatural in this context. The range of vocabulary is limited by the brevity of the response. To improve, the student should aim to incorporate more precise, topic-specific vocabulary and collocations to express their ideas with greater clarity and variety.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. There are grammatical errors, such as 'so they someone to help them,' which is a clear omission of a verb, and 'I partially agree with this that,' which is left incomplete. While the meaning is generally understandable, these errors and the incomplete sentences indicate a lack of control over complex structures. To improve, the student should focus on sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and practice proofreading to catch missing words and incomplete thoughts.
