Student answer (Band 5.5)

In today’s hectic world, everyone is busy with their own schedule, and people often do not have time to do some work such as a house cleaning, take care of children as they work full time, so they hire a person who do all the works and also take care of kids behalf of them. I personally believe it is a great way to hire a person to do our pending works, as somebody can find a job that way, also our work is also done by them instead of running everywhere and spoil the work in hairiness.

On the one hand one main primary reason is that, if we gave our work to someone who can do as their part time job, it will beneficial in both ways. For example, a person hire employee to take care of his house all day, like cooking, cleaning, take care of children like a nanny, everything. So the owner feel relax of some job duties and they can concentrate on their on office job. As a result, not only house chores but also office work is also done by great manner without any mistakes. Hence, there is a no tension of anything, children and boss both will happy and satisfied with our work and they can give promotion.

However, some people manage everything such as an office and house works together as they do not want to give their child responsibility to someone who do not know them. As a result, end the day of they often feel tired and irritated because the presser of work they handle. If the person is only do house work than it is easy to manage everything with love and care.

In the nutshell, doing things by themselves or hire a person to do our things both has their own benefits as our work is done well.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the benefits of hiring help for employment and the personal choice of doing chores oneself. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the benefits of hiring help is repetitive, focusing mainly on the owner feeling 'relaxed' without exploring the broader societal or economic implications of providing work. The second body paragraph touches on the emotional aspect of childcare but lacks depth. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more specific examples or nuanced reasoning rather than repeating similar ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'In the nutshell' (should be 'In a nutshell') and 'As a result' are used frequently, sometimes without a clear logical connection to the preceding sentence. The progression of ideas is occasionally disjointed, particularly in the transition between the benefits of hiring help and the counter-argument about doing things oneself. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'spoil the work in hairiness' (likely meaning 'haste') and 'the presser of work' (pressure). You rely on basic vocabulary like 'do' and 'work' repeatedly. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to employment, domestic management, and personal responsibility.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('a person hire employee'), article usage ('the owner feel relax'), and tense consistency. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar structures prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic errors such as pluralisation, verb forms, and sentence fragments to improve your accuracy.
