Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some people believe that, hire someone to manage things , which you don't have interest in or time constraints such as house works , to take care of kids. I believe that, it mainly depends on the financial situation and mental stability of the people.

To begin with, providing work for others is a good option if the people are well settled and at the same time how good their mental health is. People are in a roller coaster nowadays and they can not manage everything by themselves. To protect their mental stability, they should hire someone to do something on behalf for them. For example, single mother who does professional and personal life would struggle to manage these two. This is when, the importance of providing work to others. It can balance that women health as well as her family peace.

However, taking care everything by ourselves earns respect from others especially from their own kids. Some people always prefer to take care everything by themselves with out rely on others no matter what. For example, all kids expect some kind of caring and affection from their parents , which might not happen if they hire someone to do the duties through them. This is when , we realize the importance of being parents and do their own responsibilities without seeking help.

To conclude, if people are in a position to provide work for others ,that is quietly acceptable , whereas parents do their own accountability by themselves to a certain extent , which avoids some family conflicts in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of providing work for others and the importance of personal responsibility. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the example of a single mother is relevant, the argument regarding 'mental stability' is not fully explored or linked clearly to the economic impact of providing work. The position is generally clear, but the conclusion is slightly vague, using the phrase 'quietly acceptable' which lacks precision. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed explanations for your arguments and ensure that your examples directly support your main points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'This is when, the importance of providing work to others' is grammatically incomplete and awkward. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final paragraph where 'that' refers back to a broad concept rather than a specific noun. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next would significantly improve the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'well settled' instead of 'financially stable' and 'do their own accountability' which is not a standard collocation. You rely on basic vocabulary to express complex ideas. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary. For example, instead of saying 'manage things', you could use 'delegate responsibilities' or 'outsource household tasks'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'parents do their own accountability'), incorrect preposition usage, and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the placement of commas before conjunctions. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb forms and article usage will help you improve your accuracy.
