Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, People can pay someone to take care of tasks they dislike or are too bust to do, for example, Cleaning, cooking, or childcare has become a widely discussed issue. While some people believe that this is very disrespectful for passing your work to someone else , I believe that if you are paying someone to do your work so that fine. This essay will discuss the main purpose the main reason for my view, with relevant examples.

The first reason i believe that is nowadays people are so busy in there life and don't get enough time to focus on some less important things. This is because people nowadays are living their life without any parent or partner. As a result which make their life more busy. For example, if i talk about a person who is living in Canada and have to all house chores by themself after coming from there work, So they will not get enough time to cook and reason for this they book tiffin service which is basically paying someone for giving homemade food to them. Therefore, It is clear that it is very reasonable for paying.

Another Important reason is Some people don't know some things how to do it such as cleaning, cooking. So it's better to pay someone who know very well to do that specific work. In other words we are giving them the opportunity to do work and earn. Thus, if we start doing our work by our own so it will get difficult for these type of people to earn money.

In Conclusion, I believe that paying someone for your personal work is reasonable as it will help to make their life easy and other person will get some source of income .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: whether it is a good way to provide work and whether people should do these tasks themselves. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'tiffin services' is a good example, but the explanation of why it is 'disrespectful' is mentioned in the introduction and then abandoned. The essay would benefit from more depth in explaining the societal implications of outsourcing domestic labor. Overall, the response is relevant, but the ideas could be extended further to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. There is a basic attempt at using cohesive devices such as 'In other words', 'Thus', and 'Therefore'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. For example, the transition 'As a result which make their life more busy' is grammatically awkward and disrupts the logical progression. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'these type of people' without a clear antecedent. Paragraphing is present, but the internal cohesion needs more variety and precision to achieve a higher score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'too bust' (likely a typo for 'busy') and 'paying someone for giving homemade food'. The essay relies on basic, repetitive vocabulary like 'work', 'things', and 'do'. While the meaning is generally clear, there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic language. To improve, you should focus on using more specific terminology related to employment, domestic labor, and economic impact.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('people... is', 'they book'), incorrect preposition usage ('busy in there life'), and awkward phrasing ('if i talk about a person... So they will not get'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary capitalization and comma splices. While the meaning is usually understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence structure and proofreading for basic errors is essential.
