Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is occasionally possible for individuals to pay someone who do not have time for household chores and taking care of children. From my perspective, providing an employment for others is the most effective approach to maintain a healthy routine, particularly for working professionals should not be obliged to prevent burn out.

One of the main reasons is that offering work to staff can continue a balanced routine. This is largely due to working professionals spend most of their day at workplace, which can cause unnecessary stress. To illustrate, in Japan, a large number of parents hire a cook and a nanny to take care of their household chores and children. If people get assistance doing household chores, they are more prone to live a peaceful life. Consequently, people who offer employment to someone when they don't have time or interest leads to a overall quality lifestyles.

Another significant reason is people usually prefer to get a domestic help for their household chores and look after their potential children while they are at work. This is mainly because working professionals do not have enough time to spend time to do organise their home and raise their children. For instance, many people in India provide work to domestic workers who can clean their house, so when they arrive they do not have to worry about their house work. Although providing job to number of people can be beneficial to prevent burnout, it is crucial for them to look after their overall well-being.

In conclusion, it is sometimes possible for people to hire a domestic helper to look after their children and household chores to maintain a healthy lifestyles, especially working professionals while they are at work.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the benefits of providing employment and the necessity of personal involvement. However, the development is somewhat repetitive. The argument that hiring help leads to a 'balanced routine' is mentioned in both body paragraphs without significant extension. While the position is clear, the ideas lack depth and the conclusion is a summary rather than a synthesis. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced arguments regarding the personal responsibility of raising children versus the practical necessity of outsourcing chores.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices such as 'One of the main reasons', 'To illustrate', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, the progression of ideas is occasionally hindered by repetitive phrasing and some mechanical transitions. For instance, the link between the two body paragraphs is weak, as they both cover very similar ground regarding 'working professionals'. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring each paragraph introduces a distinct, non-overlapping point would improve the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing for clear communication. You use some topic-specific terms like 'domestic help', 'burnout', and 'well-being'. However, there is a lack of flexibility and precision. Some collocations are awkward, such as 'do organise their home' or 'overall quality lifestyles'. There is also some repetition of basic phrases like 'household chores' and 'working professionals'. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated synonyms and ensuring collocations are natural, such as 'delegating domestic responsibilities' instead of 'provide work to domestic workers'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'someone who do not have time' (subject-verb agreement), 'providing an employment' (article usage), and 'should not be obliged to prevent burn out' (awkward syntax). While these errors do not prevent understanding, they occur consistently throughout the text. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, and try to vary your sentence structure by using more complex subordinate clauses with greater accuracy.
