Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some argue that hiring someone to help them out with various household chores or help baby sit their children or simply because they are lazy to do themselves, is a way of helping others get jobs on the other hand some suggest that people should do their jobs by themselves. I believe both is good means of getting things done.

People are busy with their lives doing various jobs to sustain their lifestyle or family and may not have enough time to look after their children and often needs to hire nanny who can take care of their kids. In some cases some of the caretakers do not have enough professional job qualifications and such small jobs help them earn some extra income. In some cases for instance those who are searching for jobs in day care and childcare such job helps built experience in their resume and thereby provide greater job opportunities.

On other hand, people should not entirely depend on others to do everything for them, as this will not only cost them on a long run but also make them too dependable on others. Therefore to some chores can be done within their reach should not allowed to others. Also doing work by oneself give sense of relief like feeding your child with your own hands. It also keeps one active.

In conclusion, it is great to provide opportunities to others to help them support financially but should not be entirely be dependable on others to do work for you. To some extend some things are better when done by themselves as it give satisfaction and joy. Therefore both should play hand in hand role.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of providing work for others and the personal value of performing tasks oneself. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you mention that hiring help provides income and experience for caretakers, the explanation remains quite general. Similarly, the argument for doing things oneself is supported by the idea of 'satisfaction,' but could be strengthened with more specific examples or deeper analysis. The position is clear throughout, but the ideas could be extended further to reach a higher band. Ensure that each point is fully explored with a clear example or logical consequence to improve the depth of your argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'On other hand,' 'In conclusion,' and 'Therefore,' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing and some mechanical transitions. For instance, the opening sentence is a long, run-on structure that makes the introduction feel cluttered. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as 'to some chores can be done within their reach should not allowed to others.' Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that sentences are clearly connected will help the progression of your ideas feel more natural and sophisticated.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'sustain their lifestyle,' 'professional job qualifications,' and 'dependable.' However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'both is good means' (should be 'are good means') and 'play hand in hand role' (an unnatural collocation). You attempt to use some less common vocabulary, but the lack of precision occasionally affects the clarity of your message. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that your word choices are contextually appropriate rather than relying on direct translations or slightly misused phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you successfully use some complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('both is good,' 'such job helps built') and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some missing commas that would help clarify the structure of your sentences. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic agreement and verb tense consistency will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
