Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, It is hard to manage your professional life and not only household chores but also looking after children together. However, some people prefer to assign someone for their side duties such as household tasks.

Although, it is a best practice to outsource your unprofessional tasks when you have very busy job schedule. For instance, many young professionals pay money to cleaning services for taking care of their houses and apartments. Moreover, there are many couples who hires a person or nanny to look after their children because they are too occupied in their job schedule. Nevertheless, several students who are doing their study out of town often takes tiffin services or they hire someone for cooking. Although, this very effective way to manage your work load. On the same hand, this provides employment to many people. Apparently, this is good approach to manage your personal and professional life at the same time providing work to others.

However, we should not completely rely on others for doing our duties. Everyone should take responsibility for their own household work. If anyone is not completely busy with their job then, they should do their house related or other personal tasks on their own. Inspite of having free time, many young people take external services to look after their home which is not really good for their financial savings.

Hence, taking service from others is good but we should not completely rely on them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of providing work for others and the necessity of personal responsibility. However, the development is somewhat superficial. The arguments are presented but lack depth, and the essay falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the overall task achievement. While the position is clear, the ideas are not fully extended, and the conclusion is quite brief. To improve, you should aim to expand on your examples and provide more nuanced reasoning to ensure the word count is met and the topic is explored thoroughly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the benefits of outsourcing to the importance of personal responsibility. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Nevertheless', and 'Hence', though some are used incorrectly (e.g., 'Although' at the start of a sentence followed by a comma, or 'On the same hand' which is non-standard). The paragraphing is appropriate, but the flow between sentences can feel a bit mechanical due to the repetitive use of transition words. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking phrases will help the essay read more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific terms like 'outsourcing', 'professional life', and 'financial savings'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'unprofessional tasks' (which implies tasks that are not professional, rather than tasks that are not part of one's job) and 'takes tiffin services'. The range is somewhat limited, and there is a lack of more sophisticated or precise vocabulary that would elevate the response to a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. For example, 'couples who hires' (subject-verb agreement error), 'often takes tiffin services' (subject-verb agreement), and the misuse of 'Although' as a sentence starter without a main clause. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and refining your use of complex sentence structures will be beneficial.
