Should people do these things themselves?

Student answer (Band 6.5)
In this age of change, there has been much discussion around the notion of getting things done by someone else rather than doing them oneself. Is it valid to have household chores or taking care of children done by someone else? I believe it has many merits, considering the consequences and opportunities for others.
First and foremost, any task done in exchange for money is called a job, so if some people hire domestic staff with no degree or education might not get a white-collar job. To get chores like gardening or household chores done by them, this will not only create a source of money for those who were not working but also reduce the chances of crime. As it has been said, an idle mind leads to an increase in activities like burglary and robbery. Additionally, this supports workers in being able to feed their families or invest in further studies.
On the other hand, having someone do the household chores or take care of children allows things to be done on time, and children get the attention they need. Consequently, people get more time to spend time on leisure activities or bond with family and friends. Moreover, this provides a sense of privacy and motivation towards their work. It will also prevent them from burnout. Personally, I believe a lack of motivation leads to poor delivery of work.
In a nutshell, I believe it is a great idea to hire people to get the work done that someone does not want to do, for the job creation, supporting the community and allowing some personal time for themselves. I think it is a win-win situation for both.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of job creation and the personal perspective on whether people should perform these tasks themselves. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding crime reduction is a bit of a leap and could have been better supported with more nuanced reasoning. The second body paragraph touches on the benefits of outsourcing chores, but the connection between 'privacy' and 'motivation' is not fully explained. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is extended with more specific examples or logical depth rather than moving quickly to the next point.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the two main aspects of the prompt. Cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Additionally', 'On the other hand', and 'In a nutshell' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and the flow between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. For example, the transition from discussing job creation to the benefits of outsourcing for the employer is a bit abrupt. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common collocations, such as 'white-collar job' and 'domestic staff'. However, there are some inaccuracies and awkward phrasings, such as 'getting things done by someone else' (which is slightly repetitive) and 'motivation towards their work'. The range is sufficient to convey the message, but it lacks the precision and sophistication required for a higher band. Expanding the range of synonyms and more precise academic vocabulary would improve the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical errors, such as 'if some people hire domestic staff with no degree or education might not get a white-collar job', which is a fragmented and confusing sentence structure. Another example is 'spend time on leisure activities or bond with family', where the parallel structure is slightly off. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the variety of complex structures and ensuring subject-verb agreement would enhance the grammatical quality.
