Student answer (Band 6.0)

Getting busy in work or other things become popular nowadays while people hire someone to babysit their pupil as well as to do other household chores. This essay will highlight that how this trend leads to positive development on the basis of some relevant reasons and why I believe that masses should take responsibilities of doing those things on their own.

Undoubtedly, having someone to take care of household chores would eventually results in positive outcomes as it brings employment opportunity to jobless individuals. They indulge in doing hard work rather than getting involved in crimes or other bad activities and hence it becomes helpful for both persons, one who needs someone to do household things and one who is looking for job. Besides this, some parents are not familiar with babysitting and early childhood educator could become boon to those parents and in the society there is education in order to take care of children and the offered job could become the result of success.

Paradoxically, I believe that these things should be done by themselves as outsiders fulfill their duties only because of salary. House is the place where emotions are attached of families and should be taken care by their loved ones instead of some random employees. Additionally, privacy could be breached if other than family member is working in the house. Moreover, the whole life of an individual is depend on how their upbringing has been done and they might not attach with their cultural roots, if an employee raises a child. Therefore, it is vital for parents to spare time for their young ones as it creates strong relationship as well.

To recapitulate, after taking everything into consideration, it can said that although it gives a chance to other people to earn money, some precautions need to be exercised.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the economic benefits of hiring help and the personal reasons for doing tasks oneself. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'crimes' as an alternative to household work is a bit of a leap and could be better supported with more nuanced reasoning. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesize the points made in the body paragraphs. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with specific examples or logical consequences rather than just stated.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices such as 'Undoubtedly', 'Besides this', 'Paradoxically', and 'Moreover' are used to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel slightly forced. Referencing is generally clear, though some sentences are slightly disjointed. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the final paragraph is underdeveloped, which affects the overall sense of progression. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, with some attempts at more sophisticated language like 'paradoxically' and 'upbringing'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'Getting busy in work', 'babysit their pupil' (pupil usually refers to a student in a school context), and 'education in order to take care of children'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of the argument. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using words in their correct context rather than relying on direct translations or slightly inaccurate synonyms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout, such as 'would eventually results' (subject-verb agreement), 'is depend on' (passive voice error), and 'it can said' (missing auxiliary verb). While these errors are frequent, they rarely impede the reader's understanding of the main points. The punctuation is generally functional, but the control over complex sentence structures is inconsistent. To achieve a higher score, you should focus on correcting basic subject-verb agreement and verb tense consistency, and aim for more error-free complex sentences.
