Student answer (Band 5.5)
In contemporary society, people nowadays chooses to pay for the chores, which they are not able to do or wishes to not due to some time constraints or any health issues. I believe it is a good opportunity for individuals who are searching for jobs. I think people should not do these things on their own, let us discuss the given statements in the following paragraphs.
To begin with, let us shed some light on the fact why people want to pay somebody to do their chores and how it is a positive aspect. To clarify, people who are mentally stressed or have some physical constraints cannot do their regular household chores themselves, they do require help of a proffestional cleaner, which not only increases job opportunities for the young adults, but also creates a scope for some people to earn some extra bucks. To cite an example, people who have some physical injuries or due their age cannot do basic household chores like lawn mowing, house cleaning, etc. can take help from the job seekers specially from the young adults. This not only give them job security but also gives them an opportunity to learn things. In addition, working parents or newly parents hires babysitters to look after their childreen, because some need an emotional support, while others want to work more to provide better future to their kids. As a result, peoples who pay others for their chores, not only makes their lives better, but also gives opportunity to others to earn a livelyhood.
Primarily, people should not do things themselves if they do not wish to do. Although it can make the person lazy, but they donot face any mental pressure to complete their task. When people are forced to do their chores they can face various diseases such as anxiety, depression, etc.
To encapsulate, it can be concluded that by payiong others to do chores can be considered as a positive

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the benefits of outsourcing chores for job creation and the personal perspective on whether people should perform these tasks themselves. However, the development is uneven. The first body paragraph provides clear arguments regarding job creation, but the second paragraph is underdeveloped and lacks depth. Furthermore, the essay is incomplete, ending abruptly mid-sentence in the conclusion. This failure to provide a finished argument significantly impacts the overall task response, as the final position is not clearly articulated or summarized. To improve, ensure all points are fully explored and that the essay reaches a logical and complete conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'To cite an example', and 'In addition' to organize ideas. While there is a logical progression in the first half of the essay, the coherence breaks down toward the end due to the incomplete final paragraph. Paragraphing is present, but the abrupt ending makes the overall structure feel unfinished. Referencing is generally clear, though some sentences are slightly repetitive in their structure. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, completed thought that contributes to the overall argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks sophistication. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'newly parents' instead of 'new parents' and 'earn a livelyhood' (spelling error). The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but the student relies on common, repetitive terms. There are also spelling errors like 'proffestional' and 'childreen'. To improve, the student should focus on learning more precise collocations and checking spelling for common words. Using more academic vocabulary would help elevate the tone of the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('people nowadays chooses', 'peoples who pay'), incorrect pluralization ('newly parents'), and punctuation errors. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. The student should focus on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly subject-verb agreement and plural forms, before attempting more complex sentence structures. Proofreading for these common errors would significantly improve the quality of the writing.
