Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, people can pay to others to do the work which they don't like or did not have have enough time to do like making meals, cleaning and looking after their children. I believe it is a good idea as others get job but individuals can not be totally rely on others as they have to do something by their own.

Firstly, paying other pupil generate jobs by which they can earn and feed their family. For example, the cleaners perform their work through which they have something to earn and fulfill their needs. As a result, it helps in supporting their family. Secondly, the busy people can save their time due to which they can focus more on their work and utilise their precious time on company's work which not only helps them to remain stress free but also not doing the household activities.

However, people should not give their all the responsibilities to others. Instead of depending on others to do the chores will lead them to make dependent and will find a way to hide from the situation. For instance, people who hire babysitter for their babies will be less connected. Due to this, the connection between parents and their child will not that much good.

To conclude, paying someone for not doing the work like cleaning and looking after children is a good way to give job to others which helps them in financial conditions but individuals should also try to do the things by themselves to stay connected with their loved ones .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of providing work for others and the necessity of personal involvement in household tasks. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the connection between parents and children is relevant but could be expanded with more depth or a more specific example. The ideas are generally relevant, but the explanation of why people should not be 'totally reliant' on others remains at a surface level. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more detailed reasoning or illustrative examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'However', and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader through the argument. While the progression is generally logical, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. Additionally, there are instances where referencing is slightly unclear, such as in the sentence 'Instead of depending on others to do the chores will lead them to make dependent', where the grammatical structure disrupts the flow of the argument. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and the essay follows a coherent structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are some attempts at using less common vocabulary, but word choice is occasionally imprecise or unnatural, such as 'paying other pupil' (should be 'hiring other people') and 'make dependent' (should be 'become dependent'). Some collocations are also slightly awkward, such as 'fulfill their needs' or 'financial conditions'. While the range is sufficient to communicate the main points, the lack of precision and occasional errors in word choice prevent the response from reaching a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'people can pay to others', 'individuals can not be totally rely', and 'will not that much good'. These errors are noticeable and sometimes interfere with the clarity of the sentence, though they do not completely impede communication. The control over verb forms and prepositions is inconsistent. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs and comparative structures.
