Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the modern society, occasionally it is possible to pay other person to do some house work or taking care of children which some individuals are unable to do, due to lack of time. This essay will discuss whether, it is good to give some works to other people or individuals should do their own work.

On the first hand, In today's hectic world where everyone working around the clock people do not have time to do their own household chores after coming from work it is not possible to do everything Although, help is a great option but no one works properly when anyone is not around. Inspite of doing extra work and paying others i think people should invest that money for enjoying life.

On the other hand, doing own work by ourselves is good because we cannot trust on anyone like this specially in the matter children. they need extra love, care and support which no one can give them without parents and it is just a quality time which people can spend with their children they should never miss that because time never came back these are important moments which is memories for our all life lately.

To conclude, Although due to insufficient time people cannot do their own work at home but it is not good though to give some work to other unknown person I think it is better to do own things by ourselves.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, but the development is limited. While you provide a position, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack specific examples or depth. For instance, the point about 'trust' regarding childcare is relevant but is not expanded upon with sufficient detail. Furthermore, the essay falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the overall task achievement score. To improve, ensure you fully explore each point with clear reasoning and illustrative examples, and aim to meet the word count to allow for a more comprehensive discussion of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive start. However, the logical progression is sometimes weak. The use of cohesive devices is limited and occasionally mechanical (e.g., 'On the first hand', 'On the other hand'). Some sentences are disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of ideas. For example, the transition between the benefits of hiring help and the conclusion is abrupt. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects logically to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. You use simple phrases like 'do some house work' and 'do their own work' multiple times. There are also some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'no one works properly when anyone is not around' and 'time never came back these are important moments which is memories'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise and varied vocabulary, such as 'domestic responsibilities', 'outsourcing', or 'nurturing environment', and pay closer attention to collocations and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('time never came back these are important moments'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing ('In the modern society', 'trust on anyone'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense consistency and article usage. Increasing the variety of complex structures while maintaining accuracy will also help raise your score.
