Student answer (Band 5.5)

To pay someone for the things to be done by them, and we don't wanted to pay them like taking care of the kids at home or household work having different scenario, as some believe that to helps to provide someone earning by giving them work, on the other some people believe that household things have to be done by without any of pay. My point of view is on the second point of view as it's everyone's duty.

To begin with, by providing the household chores or looking after the kids may giving way of working for some people which help them to survive financially. For example, maid, and caretakers are the people who usually charge for the household chores and looking after kids, the nature of their work is the source of the income.

However, if the both partners are working, then they should be having their parents or older kids to take care of the household work or the kids. It's not even the responsibility of these people only. Even, if the both partners are working still need to share the workload, so they can complete everything by them without paying to a third person. For instance, as per an article in United States of America from BBC news if the both partners are working for their jobs, they are sharing the household work to save some extra for the future, i am agreed on this article because that would be a better option for people.

To conclude, if someone is working on our behalf we must be paying them for the household help, but make sure to do everything by sharing with each other, and there would be no burden, and you will be saving money.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: whether paying for services provides work for others and whether people should perform these tasks themselves. However, the development of ideas is limited. The argument regarding the benefits of providing employment is brief, and the counter-argument regarding personal responsibility is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. The position is clear, but the supporting examples, such as the reference to a BBC news article, are vague and do not fully illustrate the point. To improve, you should expand on the economic implications of domestic service and provide more nuanced reasoning regarding the balance between convenience and personal responsibility.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the phrase 'on the other some people' is grammatically awkward, and transitions between sentences are sometimes abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the connection between the topic sentence and the supporting example is weak. While there is an overall progression, the flow is frequently interrupted by errors in sentence structure and logical linking, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'things', 'work', and 'people' repeatedly. There are instances of awkward word choice, such as 'household things have to be done by without any of pay' and 'providing the household chores'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the presence of collocation errors (e.g., 'i am agreed on this article') indicate a limited lexical range. To improve, focus on using more specific terminology related to employment and domestic management.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('may giving way', 'both partners are working... they should be having'), article usage, and sentence construction. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as the opening sentence, which is overly long and lacks grammatical cohesion. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty. To reach a higher score, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that clauses are connected correctly using appropriate punctuation.
