Student answer (Band 6.5)
There is an ongoing debate regarding whether people should pay somebody to do things such as household chores or looking after children to make life easier or they should do these things themselves. Paying others to work is a good way of providing opportunity to deserving people as well as a way to relief stress and find some time for yourself.
Nowadays, many people argue that life has become quite busy where most of the people are doings jobs while also looking after their families. This is especially a task for working women who have both professional and household responsibilities. For example, women who are working a 9 to 5 job with children at home, needs a helping hand to deal with things in their abscence and look after children. This gives some time and help to mothers who are tired and exhausted with a hectic routine. Additionally, they can also spend some quality time with their family while not worrying about domestic work. Hiring a hosue help also provides many deserving and needy individuals with an opportunity to earn for their families.
However, others argue that some people take advantage of house maids and helpers to get an escape from their duties. Relying too much on workers pushes them into an inactive lifestyle leading to health-related issues. This sedentary way of living eventually makes them lazy and a weak person. Moreover, doing your own work or looking after children is healthy for both mind and body.
In conclusion, I am inclined to believe that one should find an oppurtunity to relax by getting help from workers. This is beneficial for both people who are looking for money and those who need help.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of providing work for others and the counter-argument regarding doing tasks oneself. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument about 'inactive lifestyles' is introduced but not fully explored with specific examples or deeper reasoning. While the response covers all requirements, the depth of analysis is more characteristic of a Band 6.5 or 7.0, as some points remain slightly superficial. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your arguments with more detailed explanations or concrete real-world examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two main viewpoints. Cohesive devices such as 'Additionally', 'However', and 'Moreover' are used to link ideas, though the flow is occasionally a bit mechanical. Referencing is generally clear, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow. To improve, try to vary your cohesive devices further and ensure that the transition between sentences feels more natural rather than relying on standard linking words at the start of every paragraph.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'sedentary way of living', 'hectic routine', and 'professional and household responsibilities'. There are some spelling errors (e.g., 'abscence', 'hosue', 'oppurtunity') and minor word choice issues, such as 'relief stress' instead of 'relieve stress'. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on proofreading for common spelling mistakes and try to incorporate more precise collocations to enhance the sophistication of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('women... needs a helping hand') and incorrect verb forms ('most of the people are doings jobs'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not cause difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher score, you need to demonstrate more consistent control over complex structures and reduce the frequency of basic grammatical slips. Focus on ensuring that your subjects and verbs agree and that your verb tenses are used consistently throughout the text.
