Student answer (Band 6.5)
There is an ongoing debate regarding whether people should pay somebody to do things such as household chores or looking after children to make life easier or they should do these things themselves. Paying others to work is a good way of providing employment to deserving people as well as a way to relieve stress and find some time for yourself.
Nowadays, many people argue that life has become quite busy where most of the people are doing jobs while also looking after their families. This is especially a task for working women who have both professional and household responsibilities. For example, women who are working a 9 to 5 job with children at home, need a helping hand to deal with things in their absence and look after children. This gives some time and help to mothers who are tired and exhausted with a hectic routine. Additionally, they can also spend some quality time with their family while not worrying about domestic work. Hiring a house help also provides many deserving and needy individuals with an opportunity to earn for their families.
However, others argue that some people take advantage of house maids and helpers to get an escape from their duties. Relying too much on workers pushes them into an inactive lifestyle leading to health-related issues. This sedentary way of living eventually makes them lazy and weak person. Moreover, doing your own work or looking after children is healthy for both mind and body.
In conclusion, I am inclined to believe that one should find an opportunity to relax by getting help from workers. This is beneficial for both people who are looking for money and those who need help.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed both parts of the prompt: the benefits of providing employment and the question of whether people should perform these tasks themselves. Your position is clear from the introduction and maintained throughout. The ideas are relevant and logically developed, particularly the discussion regarding working mothers and the counter-argument about sedentary lifestyles. To reach a higher band, ensure that your examples are slightly more detailed; for instance, you could elaborate on the specific societal impact of domestic employment beyond just 'earning for their families'. Overall, the response is well-balanced and directly answers the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow. You use some cohesive devices effectively, such as 'Additionally' and 'However'. To improve, try to vary your linking words further and ensure that referencing is precise. For example, in the second paragraph, the transition between the needs of working women and the benefits to the domestic worker could be smoother. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and contributes to the clarity of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your ideas clearly. Phrases like 'ongoing debate', 'hectic routine', and 'sedentary way of living' are used appropriately. There are some minor issues with collocation and word choice, such as 'lazy and weak person' (which should be plural 'people') and 'get an escape from their duties' (which is slightly unnatural; 'avoid their responsibilities' would be better). To achieve a higher score, incorporate more sophisticated, less common lexical items and ensure that your collocations are consistently natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is generally effective. However, there are some grammatical slips that occur throughout the text. For example, 'most of the people are doing jobs' is slightly awkward; 'most people are employed' is more precise. You also have a subject-verb agreement error in 'lazy and weak person' where the plural is required. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the essay from reaching the higher bands where the majority of sentences must be error-free. Focus on proofreading for pluralization and article usage.
