Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some people think that it is better to pay for work if they don't want to do or not have enough time because it creates job opportunity for other individuals, while other think that people should do their household chores or taking care of children. I believe that they should do their maximum work by themselves special cooking and children take care.

On the on hand, paying for services such as cleaning and washing clothes are the good way to create jobs and take off some burden. For example, a working woman can hire someone to clean and organize the house, which will help her to get some time for relax. As a result, someone can earn money for doing household chores. Moreover, day care provides big helping hand to parents by providing a safe and healthy environment for their kids.

On the other hand, individuals who believe that parents should take care of their children, as they can nurture them in a more secure and environment. Also, parents can teach them valuable lessons and their own language. Furthermore, other household chores such as cooking and washing clothes is more hygienic work, which should not be done by outside people. To illustrate this, a family member can do work with more care for their dear ones as compared to stranger who do not have any bonding with them.

I personally think that taking care of children, cooking and washing clothes are not big task that's why for safety and security it should be done by parents. Otherwise, it makes people more lazy. This is not a good way to create job opportunities, but sometime if they don't have time they can pay for it to be done.

In conclusion, balance is important in life and people should give time do their family responsibilities, instead of paying for everything. Nobody can do better job for you and family.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of creating jobs and the argument for personal responsibility. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that hiring help creates jobs, the argument could be strengthened by discussing the broader economic impact or the nature of the service industry. Similarly, the argument for doing things yourself is clear but relies on generalisations about 'strangers' and 'bonding' without deeper exploration. The position is consistent throughout, but the conclusion introduces a slightly contradictory point about 'balance' that could have been integrated more smoothly into the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organised into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices like 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as '...special cooking and children take care'. Referencing is generally clear, but the connection between ideas within paragraphs could be more fluid. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal structure of the sentences sometimes hinders the overall progression of your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on simple terms like 'big' and 'good way', which limits the sophistication of your writing. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'children take care' instead of 'childcare' and 'hygienic work' to describe chores, which is slightly unnatural in this context. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise collocations and a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to domestic labour and economic employment.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'other think that people should do' (missing subject), 'get some time for relax' (should be 'relaxation'), and 'stranger who do not have' (subject-verb agreement). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in article usage and prepositional phrases. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band, as the control over complex structures is inconsistent.
