Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this fast paced world people are very busy in their daily life routine, the result is they are paying to others for their household chores and other things.

In this technology world where competition has increased day by day and also expenses and salaries are increasing. Individuals life are so hectic to handle their jobs and household chores and other things like looking after children, they are doing 9-5 jobs sometime have to do overtime for instance, they do not get time to do extra things. Now-a-days in every family whether it is a nuclear or joint , every person is educated so nobody wants to sit home and do household chores. They want to earn more and more and wants to pay their own bills and be independent and confident in their life. Because of that they pay to others for their household chores.

In my opinion it depends on person to person abilities.

If in a family everyone is educated or they wants to be independent so there is nothing wrong with that to pay others to help them in their household chores. Another reason is higher rates of everything for example, in nuclear family husbands income is not enough for daily living that’s why wife is helping her husband in expenses , so they couldn’t get time to look after children so they pay to others for that.

In conclusion, in fast paced life people who can afford to pay others they are paying to get help to make life easy .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the economic benefits of outsourcing chores and the personal necessity of doing so. However, the development is somewhat superficial. While you mention that people are busy and educated, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. The position is clear, but the explanation of whether people 'should' do these things themselves is limited to a brief mention of personal ability and financial necessity. To improve, you should expand on the implications of outsourcing—for example, the impact on family bonding or the value of self-reliance—to provide a more balanced and thorough discussion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often mechanical. You use some cohesive devices like 'In conclusion' and 'For example', but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs are sometimes abrupt. For instance, the jump from discussing education to the cost of living in the second paragraph lacks a smooth logical connector. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'Because of that they pay to others', which refers back to a long list of previous ideas. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on repetitive phrasing, such as 'household chores' and 'pay to others', which appear multiple times. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'In this technology world' instead of 'In this technological age' or 'In this era of technology'. While the meaning is always clear, the range of vocabulary is limited to basic, everyday terms. To achieve a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and topic-specific collocations to demonstrate a wider lexical range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Individuals life are' should be 'Individuals' lives are') and article usage (e.g., 'in nuclear family' should be 'in a nuclear family'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and comma splices, such as in the first paragraph. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall fluency of the writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will help improve your score.
