Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this concurrent world, it is undoubtedly true that many people rely on other individuals to get thier work done. It is acceptable to pay someone to work on your behalf when you do not feel like. In further paragraph, I shall explain the reasons for it.

To begin with, in this era parents are working 9 to 5, and it becomes hard for them to raise their childrens. To manage work life balance, there is a need for help. Many people who resides in metropolitian city finds them busy. In this fast pacing life, it becomes hard to lookafter children, providing child with best level of care and love is utmost important and cannot be neglected. It is beneficial to hire someone to lookafter, in back of mind it will be troublesome to leave your child with someone unknown but it could be fixed through proper background check of employee and installation of camera.

However, disadvatntage of having someone to do household chores and overlooking after children cannot be overlooked either. Many have said that children will be young once in thier life and they will never get this time back. For instance, the studies have shown, young who lack affection and care from thier parents diagnosed with Autism. Moreover, household will not work according to our needs, sometimes thier work might not be satisfactory to us. It is important to arrange our own space to have a better idea of things.

In conclusion, there are two sides of a coin, in my opinion it definitely helps to have someone to do our chores, but it disadvantages cannot be overlooked either. People should learn to adapt and maintain work-life balance.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of providing work for others and the question of whether people should perform these tasks themselves. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The argument regarding the benefits of hiring help is clear, but the counter-argument regarding the disadvantages is less developed and relies on a questionable claim about autism. To reach a higher band, you should provide more balanced, logical support for your arguments. The position is clear, but the overall depth of the discussion is limited by the brevity of the supporting points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'To begin with', 'However', and 'In conclusion', to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is slightly unclear, such as the transition into the second paragraph. The use of cohesive devices is adequate but lacks the flexibility and sophistication required for higher bands. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between ideas would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific vocabulary like 'work-life balance' and 'household chores'. However, there are several spelling errors ('thier', 'resides', 'metropolitian', 'disadvatntage') and some awkward collocations, such as 'fast pacing life' instead of 'fast-paced life'. To improve, you should focus on accuracy in spelling and using more precise, natural-sounding word combinations. The range of vocabulary is sufficient for the task but lacks the precision and variety needed for a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Many people who resides', 'childrens', 'young who lack... diagnosed'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing ('in back of mind'). These errors are noticeable and occur frequently, although they do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, pluralisation, and the correct use of articles. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring they are error-free will also help raise your score.
