Student answer (Band 7.0)
It is undeniable that increasing number of people are hiring others to perform their personal tasks due to lack of time or unwillingness. While it has a positive impact on soceity for creating job opportunities, I believe that individuals should not be reliant on others if they are capable of doing these works as it leads to sedentary lifestyle and a wider gap in society.
Although there are many advantages of recruiting house-helpers, the major one is providing employment to individuals who cannot secure other jobs in community. As it is not possible for everyone to find skilled jobs, those disadvantaged people can increase their disposable income by doing work in other households. For example, less educated people can easily generate income by doing cleaning work for society members who are unwilling to do it. Another important benefit would be gaining hands-on experiences for highly-paid jobs. For instance, doing baby-sitting jobs is an effective way of gaining practical experience which is helpful in securing jobs related to early childhood education. Ultimately, it contributes to reduce unemployment in the society in long-run.
On the other side, being dependent on other people for the personal tasks makes individuals lethargic and deteriorates the quality of living. Desite the fact that employing helpers makes people's life convenient and comfortable, it makes them incapable of handling multiple responsibilities. However, when individuals handle their household responsibilities alongwith their professional commitments, they develop the skills of maintaining work-life balance and time management. In addition, while working for others, some low-income groups may feel inferior and it reinforce the society inequalities. Sometimes affluent households humiliate their servants due to the errors in work. As a result, the general public start considering these jobs as low-class which increases the gap in society.
In conclusion, even though paying somebody to do montonous housing works is an effective way of tackling the problem of lack of jobs, its drawbacks are far significant because it promotes unncessary reliance on others and reinforce societal discrimination.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have addressed all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position on both the economic benefits of hiring help and the personal drawbacks of doing so. Your ideas are well-developed, particularly the distinction between job creation for the disadvantaged and the potential for societal inequality. To reach a higher band, ensure your examples are slightly more specific; for instance, instead of 'less educated people,' you could discuss the role of domestic workers in supporting the informal economy. Your position is consistent throughout the essay, and the conclusion effectively synthesizes your main points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Each paragraph has a central theme, and you use cohesive devices such as 'Although,' 'On the other side,' and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as 'these works' in the introduction, which is slightly imprecise. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the benefits from the drawbacks, which helps the overall flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to discuss the topic with some precision. Phrases like 'disposable income,' 'hands-on experiences,' and 'societal discrimination' are used effectively. There are a few minor spelling errors, such as 'soceity,' 'Desite,' and 'montonous,' which do not impede communication but suggest a need for more careful proofreading. Your word choice is generally appropriate for an academic context, though some collocations could be more natural, such as 'housing works' instead of 'household chores.'
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as the conditional 'if they are capable of doing these works' and the concessive 'even though paying somebody...'. While you show good control, there are occasional grammatical slips, such as 'increasing number of people' (needs 'an'), 'contributes to reduce' (should be 'contributes to reducing'), and 'it reinforce' (should be 'it reinforces'). These errors are frequent enough to prevent a higher score but do not cause difficulty for the reader.
