Student answer (Band 6.5)

Employing the services of people in carrying out tasks we do not want to do at a time or are too occupied to do is a positive way of providing job to others. I totally believe people should do the works they can do, while delegating the rest to their employee.

Paying someone to carry out certain task and chores we are not fit or disposed to do at the moment, is a good way of providing employment or source of Levi hood to others. At same time, this allows the employer to be more productive with other demanding and nondelegable work, while providing an ample time for relaxation and rest. For example, a nursing mother can decide to employ the service of a nanny who would assist her in tending to the child while she attends to other pressing needs of the home.

Despite the advantages that comes with these, it is still good for people to engage in some minor tasks like cooking for themselves and their family. This way, they will ensure the family has a healthy meal while maintaining a good family time. Also, parents in carrying out little task like, assisting their children in doing their assignments, create trust and bond with them and at same time get to know their child's weakness.

In conclusion, inasmuch as paying people to do task provides job to the employee, and comfort to the employer, People should still endeavor to carryout basic task so as to keep fit and have a feel of their home.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of providing employment and the necessity of performing tasks oneself. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the example of the nursing mother is relevant, the arguments regarding why people should do things themselves are a bit brief and could benefit from more depth or specific examples to reach a higher band. The conclusion effectively summarizes the main points, ensuring the response remains focused on the task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices such as 'Despite the advantages', 'Also', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader through the argument. However, the flow between some sentences is slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and punctuation, such as the comma usage in 'Also, parents in carrying out little task like, assisting their children...'. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'delegating' and 'nondelegable', which are used appropriately. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choices, such as 'source of Levi hood' (likely meant 'livelihood') and 'do the works' (should be 'do the work'). These errors do not impede communication but indicate a need for more precise control over collocations and spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and pluralization, such as 'advantages that comes' (should be 'come') and 'do task' (should be 'do tasks'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary commas appearing in several places. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they occur frequently enough to limit the score to a 6.0.
