Student answer (Band 5.5)

Now a days, everything is expensive and people need work to survive as well as children are also important for parents. But in these days everyone prefers rest after work. Here i am explaining the both views of this topic.

Household chores or looking after children these kind of works is a good way of giving job to others because some pupils need extra job for some expenses so its a good way to help them and it will also give time to person for rest . For instance, International students has to pay their rent, grocery expenses as well as tution fees . Additionally, if student is working as a part time job and then he is doing housekeeping job its beneficial for him and less stress for him.

On the other hand , people should do these works byself due to many reasons and the initial one is enjoying time with children. If they hired someone for take care it has some negative impact on baby as well as on parents. Moreover, usually baby spend time with nanny and parents miss the enjoyable moments of their baby . It will increase lack of love, understanding because baby will understand nanny more as compared to his mom dad. For example, if baby say first word probably they missed it because they are busy at work.

From my perspective, hire someone for house work is amazing it will help the person financially as well as give you rest from work while for baby's take care it will impact bad on parents .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the task prompt: whether paying others for chores provides good work for others, and whether people should do these things themselves. The writer takes a nuanced stance, arguing that hiring help for household chores is beneficial for employment and rest, while childcare is better handled by parents to avoid emotional detachment. Ideas are generally relevant, but the support lacks depth and relies heavily on simplistic generalisations. For instance, the example of international students needing extra money is introduced but not fully elaborated to show how housekeeping specifically aids them beyond a surface level. Similarly, the points regarding childcare are repetitive. Consequently, the task response aligns best with Band 5.5 to 6.0, touching on all requirements but leaving some ideas under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay has a basic organisational structure with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing both prompts, and a concluding sentence. However, paragraphing is poorly executed, particularly in the introduction and conclusion where sentences are disjointed and lack transitional flow. Cohesive devices are used mechanically or are missing entirely, leading to abrupt shifts in ideas. For example, phrases like 'Now a days' and 'Here i am explaining the both views' feel unnatural and fail to guide the reader smoothly. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as pronoun confusion in sentences discussing children and parents. Overall progression is somewhat hindered by these mechanical links and basic paragraphing, reflecting a Band 5.0 level.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, successfully communicating everyday concepts related to employment, chores, and family life ('household chores', 'part time job', 'nanny', 'financially'). However, attempts at less common vocabulary are limited and often inaccurate or awkward in collocation, such as 'baby's take care' instead of 'childcare', and 'impact bad' instead of 'have a negative impact'. There are also frequent word-form and spelling inaccuracies, including 'tution fees' and 'byself'. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The text displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though complex structures are often faulty. The writer attempts conditional and subordinate clauses, but structural errors frequently occur, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('children are also important', 'International students has') and awkward phrasing ('if baby say first word probably they missed it'). Punctuation is weak, with frequent spacing errors around commas and periods, and capitalisation is inconsistent ('i', 'Now a days'). Because errors are frequent and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader despite a recognizable mix of structures, the grammar performance sits securely at Band 5.0.
