Is this a good way of providing work for others?
Should people do these things themselves?

Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, many people pay others to do household chores or look after their children because they are busy with work and other activities. I think this is a good way of providing employment, although people should still do some household tasks themselves.
Firstly, paying someone to do household chores can provide useful jobs for others. Many people can earn their living by cleaning houses, cooking meals and taking care of children. This can be especially helpful for people who are looking for flexible jobs. For example, nowadays, a busy family may hire a cleaner twice a week, which gives the cleaner a regular source of income.
However, I believe people should do some tasks themselves. Household chores teach people responsibility and help family members work together. In addition, parents should spend time with their children instead of paying a caretaker. For instance, parents can play or cook food together with their children.
In conclusion, paying others to do household tasks is a good way to create employment, especially in their busy schedules. However, everyone should take some responsibility for their own household and family.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The student addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing whether outsourcing chores provides employment and whether people should do these tasks themselves. A clear position is established in the introduction and maintained throughout the response. However, the length requirement of 250 words is not met, as the response contains only 184 words. Consequently, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed due to this restricted scope, preventing the response from achieving a higher band score according to the task achievement descriptors. To improve, the student must expand their supporting arguments with more detailed explanations and examples to comfortably exceed the word count minimum.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response exhibits a clear overall structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs addressing each part of the prompt, and a concise conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'However', 'In addition', and 'In conclusion' are employed to guide the reader through the text, although they are at times slightly mechanical. Referencing is generally clear, and logical progression is maintained from one paragraph to the next. While the ideas are logically sequenced, the brevity of the text limits the scope of cohesive features. Overall, the organizational framework is coherent and meets the criteria for a band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, successfully using terms related to the topic such as 'household chores', 'flexible jobs', 'regular source of income', and 'responsibility'. There are appropriate attempts at less common vocabulary, and word choices are generally natural and precise enough to ensure communication is not impeded. Spelling and word formation are accurate throughout the text. Although the range is somewhat limited due to the short length of the essay, the vocabulary used is appropriate and fit for purpose, comfortably aligning with a band 6.0 level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures such as subordinate clauses ('because they are busy with work') and infinitive phrases ('to do household chores'). Grammatical accuracy is reasonably good; the majority of simple sentences are error-free, and punctuation is handled correctly. While the range of complex structures is somewhat limited and constrained by the brief length of the text, the errors are minimal and do not impede communication. The control over basic and intermediate grammar structures is solid, supporting a band 6.0 score.
