Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, it has become very common for people to outsource their work to others. No doubt, this creates employment for others and saves time for ourselves, but I believe people should reduce this practice as much as possible.
Whenever we pay for the work or the service, we provide opportunities for people who need work. Usually, we see people who are studying like undergraduate students are always searching for part-time so that they can earn for the day-to-day expenditure while they can pay for their tuition fees. Helping with household chores, tutoring, students or taking care of pets are some tasks they can complete along their studies. Furthermore, people who have hectic schedules, use their time to rest by handing it to people who need money. For instance, an online survey suggests that 78% of international students aim to obtain part-time jobs in their first year of undergrad studies. This shows the demand of the work in present market.
However, relying on other individuals for your daily needs have negative impacts.People tend to become lazier when they stop doing their household chores. For example, a study reveals that majority of the employees working in a corporate setting have body posture issues because of nearly no physical motion in daily life. When you undertake work like gardening and cleaning room, your body bends and stretches muscles, which helps in body mobility. This is essential to regulate your health. Additionally, busy parents send their children to daycare. This reduces the bonding time between the parent and the child.
To conclude paying somebody for your work is good to give employment to others who are in need. Although people should not be overdependent on others in a way that degrade their own health and their relationships with their family members.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the two-part prompt successfully. The candidate acknowledges that outsourcing chores provides employment for others and saves time, while also presenting a clear position that people should reduce this practice due to negative impacts on health and family relationships. Ideas are extended and supported with relevant explanations and examples, such as reference to international students seeking part-time jobs and corporate employees suffering from posture issues. The position remains clear throughout the essay, meeting the requirements for a Band 7.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay displays clear logical organisation with an introduction, well-defined body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to connect ideas, such as 'Whenever', 'Furthermore', 'However', and 'Additionally'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct arguments regarding employment benefits versus personal health and family drawbacks. However, some referencing is slightly awkward, such as 'handing it to people' where 'it' lacks a clear antecedent, placing the cohesion at a solid Band 6.5 to 7 level.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The writer uses an adequate and generally appropriate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'outsource', 'day-to-day expenditure', 'hectic schedules', and 'overdependent'. There are some minor lexical inaccuracies or awkward collocations, such as 'demand of the work in present market' instead of 'demand for work in the present market' and 'cleaning room' instead of 'cleaning rooms'. Nonetheless, the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning clearly, aligning with Band 6.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The student demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating conditional-like structures, relative clauses, and participial phrases (e.g., 'When you undertake work like gardening and cleaning room, your body bends and stretches muscles...'). There are some grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'searching for part-time so that they can earn' (missing noun) and 'To conclude paying somebody' (missing comma). However, these errors rarely impede communication, supporting a Band 6 score.
