Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the modern society, it is common to see provide job opportunities over tiny tasks. While some people believe provide money for the things that they don't want to do or don't have time to do, others believe those should be done by themselves. I believe this should be decided based on the time that you have and also the complexity of the task that has to be done.

I insist this creates more job opportunities for the society which helps to reduce the unemployment. On the other hand people can benifit from the time that they saved from the task that they have out sourced to do. As an example. A person who has a busy professional life owns an old garage which will immediealty need some repairs. For the mentioned repairs, he can sacrifice the time that he saved for looking after his newly born baby. Meanwhile there is a handyman who are suffering from poverty. If the first person can outsource the mentioned job to the market, both person will benefit from the decision.

However, people shoud have to learn do the basic things such as looking after children, doing household chores. Instead of outsourcing every task, they should identify clearly where the boundry is. Which task should I do, which tasks should I pay for. Unless people will eventually dependent on each an every tasks. School children should learn the basic task in a house such as how to do laundry, changing a bulb etc.

In conclusion, Outsourcing work will provide job opportunities. Eventhough people should know how to do the basic tasks by themselves. Based on above mentioned points, I believe people should identify which task should be done by other people and which tasks should be done by themselves.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing whether outsourcing tasks provides good work for others and whether people should perform these tasks themselves. The writer takes a clear position in the introduction by stating that it depends on time and task complexity, and develops this stance throughout the body paragraphs with relevant examples, such as the busy professional and the handyman. While the ideas are relevant and generally well-supported, some points could have been extended further. For instance, the discussion on school children learning basic household tasks is introduced towards the end but remains somewhat brief. Overall, the writer successfully covers all parts of the task with clear reasoning, aligning well with the Band 6.0 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement and follows a logical structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different arguments, such as the benefits of job creation versus the necessity of basic life skills. However, cohesion is at times faulty and mechanical. For example, sentences like 'As an example. A person...' display broken punctuation where a conjunction or comma should be used. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'Unless people will eventually dependent on each an every tasks.' Despite these mechanical flaws, the progression of ideas is generally clear, justifying a Band 6.0 score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'outsource', 'professional life', and 'complexity'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'benifit' instead of benefit, 'immediealty' instead of immediately, and 'boundry' instead of boundary. Grammatical forms of words are also sometimes misused, such as 'people will eventually dependent' instead of depend. While these lexical errors occur frequently, they do not impede communication, as the writer's meaning remains clear, placing the response firmly at Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures like conditional and relative clauses. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text. Examples include fragment sentences ('As an example. A person...'), subject-verb agreement issues ('there is a handyman who are suffering'), and awkward phrasing ('people shoud have to learn do the basic things'). Punctuation errors are also prominent, particularly with comma splices and missing commas. Although these errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, the mix of sentence structures and overall intelligibility prevent a lower score, making Band 5.0 an accurate assessment.
