IELTS Writing Task 2 question
It is sometimes possible to pay somebody to do things you don't want to do, or don't have time to do, for example, household chores or looking after children.
Is this a good way of providing work for others?
Should people do these things themselves?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is best way to pay others for work if we are unable to do things because of less time or our own will, like cleaning house or cooking. I think it is the best way to help others people in need of work rather than doing the work themselves when they are not feeling well.
To start with, this is the best source of employment for individuals. We know population of this country is increasing day by day because of which many people did not have jobs. If we would provide them some help by allowing them to work for us and then pay them. It would be a great way to help the people in need. I know giving them work for some hours would not benefit them a lot still, they could meet their regular expenses with that money. For example, survey has been provided recently by a journalist which states that, half of population in this world is not been able to get food for two times a day because of unemployment.
On other side, depending on other's work would cause laziness in society. When people would not work themselves for one day even though they do not have time, it would make them dependent on others. They may think that they could work more hours and will pay someone to work for their house; instead of themselves doing the things. All this thinking and depending on others would make them lazy and they could not able to work for their own responsibilities. For instance, once a month I was overIly dependent on Uber Eats for doing my grocries. I just ordered while sitting free at home doing nothing because I thought it is the easiest way but I was wrong. Then I realized, I am paying extra costs for that app even though I could buy that in store.
In conclusion, when people are not free or they choose not to do work, they find it best to pay others. I am in favour of providing a chance to others for doing our work over the idea of ourselves performing the everyday taaks.
