Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this modern era, people are working more to earn sufficient amount of money to fulfill their daily needs. It could be difficult for working employee to look after their basic household work and specially their kids. According to my perspective, hiring someone to carry out basic jobs at home and to look after children could be a wise decision. This idea could conserve time which you could utilize in different productive ways.
First of all, I would say it could be a best way to help someone by providing them work. At this moment, a lot of individuals are struggling to get a work. Some families who are financially stable usually hire some staff to work at their homes. For example, a business man working hard and along with the busy schedule he will not be able to concentrate at the personal growth of their kids so they hire nanny to look after their children.
On the other hand, people could take a part in performing daily chores at the home. By working themselves they could get the work done as per their choice and interest.Unfortunately, not everyone belongs to that group. They prefer to rest, sleep and consume their quality time with their kids rather than wasting time to do household things.
In conclusion, offering an opportunity to work for yourself could be a better decision to consume your time in doing something therapeutic. However, it is totally depended upon the insights of an individual to choose what they want to do.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: whether hiring help provides work for others, and whether people should perform these chores themselves. The student establishes a clear position in the introduction, stating that hiring help is a wise decision that saves time, and maintains this stance throughout the essay. Ideas are generally relevant, such as mentioning employment opportunities and the benefits of resting or focusing on children. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and lacks depth. For instance, the second body paragraph mentions that a businessman might hire a nanny because he is busy, but this point could have been extended with more specific examples. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, placing this performance at a solid Band 6 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a logical progression of ideas. Paragraphing is utilised appropriately to separate the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Cohesive devices are present, such as 'First of all', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader through the text. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical. For example, the sentence 'Unfortunately, not everyone belongs to that group' lacks clear connection to the preceding sentence about performing daily chores, and the pronoun reference in 'so they hire nanny' contains a grammatical error ('a nanny') that affects smooth cohesion. Despite these minor flaws, the logical flow is maintained throughout, fitting the Band 6 descriptors well.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'financially stable', 'therapeutic', and 'personal growth'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and phrasing throughout the text. Examples include 'working employee' instead of 'working employees', 'consume their quality time' instead of 'spend their quality time', and 'totally depended upon' instead of 'totally dependent upon'. Additionally, spelling and article errors occur, such as 'a work' instead of 'work' or 'a job'. These lexical slips do not severely impede communication, but they restrict the score to a Band 5.5, balancing between the adequate range of Band 6 and the noticeable errors of Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'It could be difficult for working employee to look after their basic household work...' and 'By working themselves they could get the work done as per their choice and interest.' There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly regarding pluralisation and articles ('working employee', 'a work', 'a business man working hard and along with the busy schedule he will not be able...'). Preposition and verb form errors also appear, such as 'depended upon the insights'. While these errors do not impede overall communication, they occur with enough frequency to prevent the essay from reaching a Band 6, aligning more closely with Band 5 where frequent errors in complex structures cause some difficulty for the reader.
