Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays life has become so much busier that people have to hire other people for their routine work. Some people do it only because they are lazy while some geniuney in need of other person for house help or taking care of children due to their heavy work schedule. Although people can save time by hiring external parties for peronal care, I belive they should be independent and and work by themselves for quality of work and avoid unnecessory financial burden.

While we look from the point of view of socitial benifits then we could say it has numerous advantges. First and formost is it creats employment. So, eventually it will boost economy and standard of living in community. Additionally, Health concern can also be treated in well manner if personal work has been managed by servents which will allow adequate time to rest to busy people.

On the contrary side there are some cons as well. In the intial stage of upbringing of child they need parent's love and supervison and if they fail to do so then it will adversely affect the future of childern which will be resulted in devlopment of bad habits. Additionally, Hire a maid also requires money to be paid which is financial burden on an individual person. So, it is better to save those money use it for future or better devlopment of life.

To conclude, Instead of relying on servents and create an extra cost for living I would prefer a person should work limited number of hours or they should work in an organization where they can manage work-life balance which will benificial not only for them from the point of view of money but also from the growth of their children.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task, offering a clear position on both whether hiring help provides useful employment and whether people should do these tasks themselves. The writer introduces relevant ideas regarding societal benefits, such as job creation and economic boost, while contrasting them with potential cons related to child upbringing and financial burdens. However, some arguments remain somewhat under-developed and general, lacking deeper elaboration or concrete personal examples. For instance, the discussion on child upbringing is introduced briefly without sufficient extension. Nevertheless, the central position is maintained throughout the essay, fulfilling the core requirements of the prompt and aligning well with the expectations for a band 6.0 performance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs addressing both sides of the argument, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used to separate distinct ideas, such as the societal advantages versus the personal disadvantages. However, cohesion at the sentence level is occasionally faulty or mechanical, with instances of awkward referencing and transitional phrases like 'While we look from the point of view' and 'On the contrary side'. Furthermore, referencing devices such as pronouns are sometimes unclear, as seen in the concluding sentence where 'they' creates minor ambiguity regarding whether it refers to the workers or the parents. Progression is generally logical, but the transitional links prevent the essay from reaching a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'work-life balance', 'financial burden', and 'upbringing'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'geniuney' instead of 'genuinely', 'peronal' instead of 'personal', 'belive' instead of 'believe', 'unnecessory' instead of 'unnecessary', 'socitial' instead of 'societal', 'benifits' instead of 'benefits', 'formost' instead of 'foremost', 'creats' instead of 'creates', 'servents' instead of 'servants', and 'intial' instead of 'initial'. Despite these frequent errors, the meaning is generally communicated successfully, placing the lexical performance solidly at the band 5.5 level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting complex structures such as conditional and subordinate clauses (e.g., 'Although people can save time by hiring external parties for personal care, I believe they should...'). However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in verb forms, prepositions, articles, and word forms, such as 'if personal work has been managed by servants which will allow' (tense/punctuation issues), 'Hire a maid also requires' (gerund subject error), and 'save those money use it' (missing preposition/conjunction). Additionally, there are punctuation errors, such as missing commas after introductory phrases. These errors occasionally cause slight difficulty for the reader, though they do not completely impede communication.
