Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The student addresses both parts of the prompt directly: whether outsourcing chores is a good way of providing work, and whether people should do these tasks themselves. A clear position is maintained throughout the response, with the introduction outlining both aspects and subsequent body paragraphs developing relevant ideas. The benefits to low-income earners are explored well, and the personal health and familial benefits of doing chores oneself are also presented. However, some ideas lack depth and could be extended further with more precise examples. Overall, the requirements of the task are well-met, aligning with Band 6.5 to 7.0 descriptors. Because all parts are addressed with a clear position and supported ideas, a band score of 6.5 is awarded.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay displays a generally clear overall progression and logical organisation. Paragraphing is utilised effectively, with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs exploring separate viewpoints, and a brief conclusion. Cohesive devices are present, such as 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'Consequently', though some transitions feel slightly mechanical or formulaic. Pronoun referencing is generally adequate, but phrases like 'this tasks' and 'assist the individuals' show minor lapses in cohesive control. Paragraph structuring is sound, but greater flexibility in logical transitions would elevate the score further. This performance fits comfortably within the Band 6.0 to 6.5 descriptors; therefore, a band score of 6.0 is awarded.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'financially challenge sector', 'inconsistent jobs', and 'emotional neglect'. However, there are noticeable word-form and collocation errors, such as 'hectic work life' instead of 'hectic work lives', 'financially challenge' instead of 'financially challenged', and 'lose of privacy' instead of 'loss of privacy'. Spelling errors like 'emotinal' and 'proving parently confort' also occur. Despite these inaccuracies, communication is not impeded, and meaning remains clear throughout. These characteristics reflect the Band 6.0 descriptor profile, earning a band score of 6.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, including conditional forms and relative clauses. There are, however, frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and pluralisation, such as 'daily life tasks such as basic household chore', 'this tasks takes', and 'if the children are having hard time at studies'. Articles are occasionally misused, as seen in 'at different places' and 'earn sufficiently'. While these errors are noticeable and require the reader to occasionally pause, they do not impede overall communication. Because there is a reasonable mix of sentence structures alongside persistent errors, the writing aligns closely with the Band 6.0 descriptors.
