Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often debated whether it is a good idea to outsource staff to help us with domestic chores and child care or not. In the concurrent world where all the members of the family work, hiring staff can be a great way to take a substantial amount of burden off your plate. In my opinion, it is an also an excellent way to create employement opportunities for the public.
The primary reason is that, the rate of unemployement is rapidly increasing. With the increase in population, poverty is at its zenith. Thus, hiring employees to do housework for you can create vacancies for people who are suffering. Underprevilliged people from low-income backgrounds can benefit from this and it can become a win-win situation for the staff and the employers.Furthermore, It is also a great way to prevent beggery and crime rate in the country. People can become financially independent and live a life with dignity. Therefore, it can be an ideal way to help the poor and eradicate criminal actitivies.
Additionally, In this fast-paced world where families are dependent on double income, there is very little opportunity left for the family members to take care of the household along with their jobs. Hiring help provides people with a chance to focus more on their career and successfully create a work-life balance. Although, some people think that one should fully take the responsibility of their housework and children. But it is widely seen that individuals who sublet their duties to the staff, tend to live a more relaxed and prosperous life and avoid burnouts. For instance, a mother who works for 8 hours a day, comes home to a well-fed child and a clean house is expected to be more happy in her life, instead of a mother who has the same working hours and is expected to carry out domestic chores and look after her child after her job.
To conclude, it is often argued that if people don't have time they should hire others to carry out their duties and hire help. In my opinion it can be great way to create employement opportunities for people and aid employers in focusing on their career and create a work-life balance.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response successfully addresses all parts of the two-part prompt. The writer presents a clear position throughout, discussing both whether outsourcing domestic tasks is a good way to provide employment and whether people should handle these chores themselves. The ideas are extended and supported with relevant explanations and examples, such as the comparison of working mothers. Although the development is generally clear, there is a slight tendency to over-generalise regarding the eradication of poverty and crime, but this does not detract from the overall fulfillment of the task. The writer maintains a consistent viewpoint and covers both questions adequately, aligning well with the Band 7 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay displays a clear overall progression and logical organisation. Paragraphing is used appropriately, with distinct paragraphs dedicated to the introduction, the employment benefits, the personal/lifestyle benefits, and the conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Additionally', and 'To conclude' are utilised to connect ideas, although some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive in their positioning. Referencing is generally clear, and the logical flow between sentences and paragraphs ensures the reader can easily follow the writer's argument. These features place the response firmly in the Band 7 category.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates a sufficient range of vocabulary to allow some flexibility and precision, employing less common items such as 'substantal amount of burden', 'financial independence', and 'work-life balance'. However, there are notable spelling and word-choice errors that prevent a higher score, including 'concurrent' instead of 'contemporary', 'employement' (repeatedly misspelled), 'Underprevilliged', 'beggery', and 'actitivies'. While these minor lexical and spelling slips do not impede communication, their frequency keeps the score at Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating conditional and concessive clauses such as 'In this fast-paced world where families are dependent on double income...' and 'Although, some people think that one should fully take the responsibility...'. However, there are noticeable grammatical errors and awkward punctuation placements, such as comma splices and fragments ('Furthermore, It is also...', 'Additionally, In this fast-paced world...', 'In my opinion it can be...'). Despite these recurring slips, the meaning remains clear throughout, making Band 6.0 an appropriate descriptor match.
