Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The candidate addresses all parts of the task by discussing both whether employing others for chores is a good way to provide work and whether people should perform these tasks themselves for health reasons. A clear position is maintained throughout the response. Ideas are supported with relevant examples, such as the survey conducted by the 'Times of India' and reference to the World Health Organization. However, some arguments lack deeper extension, placing the response comfortably at Band 6.0 according to the descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay is divided into appropriate paragraphs, presenting a logical overall progression. The introduction outlines the two perspectives, followed by body paragraphs discussing employment and health respectively. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'Apart form that', and 'Moving to toward the points', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical or awkward (e.g., 'Moving to toward the points'). Referencing is generally clear, but occasional clunky phrasing affects smooth flow, aligning the text with Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student attempts a range of vocabulary appropriate for the topic, including terms like 'employment perspective', 'household chores', 'caretaker', and 'obesity'. However, there are notable spelling errors ('stess freee', 'there' instead of 'their', 'persective', 'form' instead of 'from', 'nuturing', 'metero', 'obsity', 'diabitites', 'providng', 'oppournity', 'goo') and awkward word choices ('busy in there life', 'lacks of time such domestic work'). Because these errors occasionally impede smooth reading, a Band 5.5 is appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'With the passage of time, people are becoming busy in there life owing to their workload...'. However, grammatical errors are frequent throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('people... is becoming', 'they able to support'), missing articles ('as by providing work'), and prepositions ('owing to employment persepective'). While meaning is generally communicated, the high frequency of non-systematic grammatical errors places this criterion at Band 5.0.
