Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is undeniable concept that nowadays people incline towards their professional life and choosing someone to do the household chores and baby sitting for them. It is an employment opportunity for those who come from poor families. On the other hand some people prefer to do work by themselves. I will highlight both views according to my opinion in upcoming paragraphs.

First and foremost, In this modern world male and females both are working professionals so they can earn more to give better future for their child, so it is better to hire somebody to do household chores and baby sitting. It can give them more time to relax and spend time with their family. Moreover, It is an employment opportunity for those who are suffering in their lives. It gives them hope in life to earn and survive. In addition, some people suffer from health conditions so they are unable to participate in household chores, Due to this, they hire people to work for them.

On the other hand, some people are very particular and motivated they like to do their household chores by themselves, so they can save more money. For instance, if a female memeber of the house is a housewife, they do not need extra people in house to work for them as she is totally capable to take care of the baby and rest of the household chores.

As of my opinion, there are more benefits to hire people to do basic chores in house and to take care of the baby. People can go to work without any stress if they have somebody at home to babysit.

To conclude, Hiring people to do chores in house and to babysit gives employment opportunity and give people time to relax at home after hectic work lifestyle.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing whether hiring help is a good way to provide employment and whether people should do these tasks themselves. The writer takes a clear position that hiring help is beneficial both for providing employment and reducing the stress of busy working lives. Ideas are generally relevant, but some points, such as the mention of health conditions, feel slightly under-developed and tangential to the main thrust of the prompt. The overall argument is presented clearly, though the conclusion repeats points rather than synthesising them. This places the response comfortably at Band 6.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure, using introductory, body, and concluding paragraphs appropriately. Logical connectors like 'First and foremost', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' are employed to guide the reader through the text. However, referencing and cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or slightly faulty, such as 'As of my opinion', which sounds unnatural. Paragraph transitions are evident, but the progression of ideas within paragraphs can occasionally feel disjointed. Overall, the organizational structure meets the requirements for a Band 6.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, successfully attempting phrases such as 'working professionals', 'employment opportunity', and 'hectic work lifestyle'. However, there are noticeable vocabulary and collocation inaccuracies, such as 'It is undeniable concept', 'suffering in their lives', and 'female memeber'. Word choice errors and spelling slips occur, but they do not impede communication, allowing the reader to follow the arguments without significant strain. This fits the profile for Band 6 lexical resource.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over sentence structure with clauses linked by words like 'so' and 'because'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation lapses, such as comma splices ('...both are working professionals so they can earn more...', '...motivated they like to do...'), missing articles, and subject-verb agreement issues ('a female memeber... they do not need'). While these errors are noticeable, communication is rarely impeded. The level of grammatical control and error frequency align with Band 5.5, rounded to 6.0.
