Student answer (Band 6.5)

In modern societies, hire a person to handover some household activities is become very common trend thesedays. This could be a best possible way to help some needed people by giving such kind of employment. Despite, it doesn't harm to anyone, I think some specific activity should not be done by other people such as taking care of children.

Paying others to carry out household tasks is, I believe, a genuinely beneficial source of work. This phenomena helps both side, a person who looks for some earning can get employment and an employer can have some great time to spend with his family and for himself which eventually makes him stressfree and healthy. From the receiving side, such kind of emplyement is usually suitable for those who are less qualified and facing struggle to get corporate job. Undoubtably, I believe person should focus first to get some competitive qualification for his personal growth, newly migrate people or especially students can do such kind of work while studying in parallel. This provides them financial independence. Admittedly, such kind of work is very poorly paid and insecure as well. Despite all thses concerns, this matter belongs to improvement of regulations of the sectors, not against the jobs themselves.

Much I appreciate such kind of employment, I feel it depends what kind of tasks a person is outsourcing. For instance, tasks like cleaning, gardening, daily grocery shopping, and even at some extent cooking could be handed over to others by paying some extra money but the childcare, on the other hand is a different matter. While some argue that financial stability must be necessary if a person has a child, I would contend that child needs parents first instead of nannies in the first couple of years. Nowadays, while having an infant, hire a nanny is very common ideology in evey family, so that parents can work by themselves without worring about childcare I really condemned such mentality as there is ceratin time after giving birth, in which parents cannot be replaced by some other person. Children's upbringing should be the full responsibility of parents rather than nannies or any nurseries.

In conclusion, employing others coud be the humble and kind contribution to economy and society but there are some essential tasks in life those must be carried out by ownself. In my opinion, children's upbringing is one of them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing whether paying for household chores is a good way to provide employment and whether people should do these tasks themselves. You present a clear position throughout the essay, arguing that while such jobs offer valuable employment for those with fewer qualifications, personal tasks like childcare must remain the responsibility of parents. Your ideas are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as mentioning students and newly migrated people benefiting from flexible work, and distinguishing between household chores and parenting. The main ideas are well-developed and the tone is appropriate, fitting the requirements for a Band 7 performance under this criterion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

Your essay demonstrates a clear logical organisation and progression throughout. Each paragraph has a distinct focus, moving smoothly from the introduction to the economic benefits of outsourcing, then to the exception regarding childcare, and finally to a concise conclusion. You use cohesive devices to link your ideas, such as 'Despite all these concerns', 'For instance', and 'on the other hand'. However, referencing and cohesion are occasionally slightly mechanical or repetitive in phrase choice (e.g., 'such kind of work'), and paragraphing, while present, could be managed with even greater fluency. Overall, the structure effectively guides the reader, warranting a Band 6.5 or 7.0; here, it comfortably meets the Band 6.5 descriptors.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate to good range of vocabulary suitable for the task, attempting less common items such as 'genuinely beneficial', 'financial independence', 'outsourcing', and 'upbringing'. However, there are notable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'hire a person to handover' instead of 'hiring someone to hand over', 'This phenomena' (phenomenon), 'needed people' (needy people), and 'every family' misspelled as 'evey family'. These lexical inaccuracies and spelling slips prevent the vocabulary from reaching a higher band, keeping it firmly within the Band 6 range where vocabulary is adequate for the task but exhibits recurrent errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

Your essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordinate clauses and conditional ideas. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('hire a person... is become'), tense confusion ('it doesn't harm to anyone'), prepositional mistakes ('responsibility of parents rather than nannies'), and missing pluralisation or articles ('child needs parents first instead of nannies'). While these errors do not impede overall communication—meaning the reader can easily follow your arguments—their frequency prevents you from achieving a Band 7, as error-free sentences are not frequent enough. This aligns with Band 6.
