Student answer (Band 6.0)

These days alot of poeple if the basic chores of our daily life should be done with the help of others or not. I personally believee that a help is needed to complete our tasks , provided that poeple are busy with theirs work. However, getting totally dependend on others can surge some ramifications in the life of individuals. So in the essay I Will be discusing botht the point of views.

First and foremost reasons to have help is reduce our pressure , burden as sometimes it is difficult to manage both household work and professional work. In this case, it is totally understandable that a person needs help. Secondly, this is a great way to provide work to others who are in need of work and belongs to less well-off familes. This way both the parties can have benefit of this service.

While on the other hand, if the parents don't have time to take care of their kids, then grandparents or any other elder in the house should take care of kids than hiring someone. Although this is beneficial, but teaching the basic manners and the ettiquettes is the responsibility of parents not others. Also, this will strenghen the bond between family members and child which is required to raise a child. Without this love a child might feel distant with his family.

To conclude, one person should opt for taking help to lessen their burden whereas if one is needed to their task, they must do it themselves than putting it on someone else.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both whether paying others is a good way to provide work and whether people should handle these chores themselves. The writer takes a clear position, stating that help is beneficial for busy individuals and job creation, but that certain personal tasks like childcare should remain within the family. However, the ideas are somewhat briefly developed and lack deeper extension or detailed examples. For instance, the point about helping less well-off families is stated simply without further elaboration. Despite these limitations in development, the overall prompt is adequately covered, aligning well with the criteria for a Band 6.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, such as the benefits of hiring help versus the importance of personal involvement in childcare. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty, as seen in the phrasing 'So in the essay I Will be discusing botht the point of views' and repetitive transitions like 'Secondly'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and logical progression between some sentences could be smoother. These features place the response firmly in the Band 6 category.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'ramifications', 'well-off families', and 'etiquette'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'alot', 'poeple', 'believee', 'dependend', and 'ettiquettes'. Furthermore, phrases like 'surge some ramifications' demonstrate inaccurate collocation, as 'surge' is not the appropriate verb for causing negative outcomes. While these lexical errors occur frequently, they do not impede overall communication, reflecting the characteristics of a Band 5.5 performance, which rounds to a Band 6.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing subordinating clauses such as 'provided that poeple are busy with theirs work' and 'if the parents don't have time'. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with frequent errors in punctuation, article usage, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'these days alot of poeple if the basic chores...' which contains a missing main verb or clause structure. Other errors include 'botht the point of views' and 'one person should opt for taking help... whereas if one is needed to their task'. These recurring structural errors and awkward phrasings pull the grammar score down to a Band 5.
