Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: whether hiring people for chores is a good way to provide work, and whether people should do these things themselves. The student presents a clear position, discussing the economic and employment benefits on one hand, and the negative consequences on personal dependency and safety on the other. However, the ideas are relatively basic and lack full extension. For example, the point about crime or bad treatment of children is mentioned briefly without deep elaboration. This performance aligns best with the Band 5 descriptors, as the task is addressed, but the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four paragraphs representing an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing basic paragraphing awareness. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions, run-on sentences, and abrupt shifts in topics. Cohesive devices are either missing or used inaccurately, such as 'otherwish they may get complain' and 'On the other hand, There are several negetive point out do not doing'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it hard to follow the flow of arguments. These features place the response firmly at Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 due to the overall structural attempts.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The student uses a very basic and repetitive vocabulary range throughout the text. Frequent spelling errors heavily impact the quality of lexical resource, including words like 'theri' for their, 'untencils' for utensils, 'press the cloths' (ironing), 'trem' for trim, 'Aslo' for also, 'otherwish', 'complain' instead of complaints, 'loss' instead of lose, 'negetive', 'point out', 'thire', and 'transprent'. While some attempts are made to use topic-related vocabulary like 'household chores' and 'responsibility', the sheer frequency of misspellings and incorrect word forms causes strain for the reader, fitting the Band 4 descriptors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The student displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. Most sentences are simple or attempt complex structures that are heavily flawed and ungrammatical, such as 'Many people do not have time to do their work like take care of house or children so, they pay for that and hire some people to do theri work.' Errors in punctuation, tense consistency, and subject-verb agreement are pervasive throughout the response ('if do something bad thing with your children', 'is they are not able'). These frequent, heavy errors cause constant difficulty for the reader and distort meaning at times, corresponding to a Band 4.0 level.
