Student answer (Band 6.0)

Many people often like to pay to get a task completed which they are not able to do themeselves, things like househould and childcare duties. Although they created employment opportunities people should take responsibiltiy of these tasks themselves rathen than outsourcing help.

On one hand, hiring people to do domestic errands can create opportunity for employment and generates demand for multiple businesses. Due to strict schedules and comitments to work people are not able to complete small tasks which are necessarey for daily basis, employing a helping hand works for both sides. It also helps individuals skilled specifically for such tasks to generate income by working in such requirements. While errands like this are not time consuming, it is not a full-time commitment and can apply for multiple jobs. It also serves as a humanatarian aspects when helping people with needs and also senior citizens. For example, a household where both the parents have full-time jobs they can employ a babysitter for their child who takes care of the basic necessity for the child.

On the other hand, people tend to get away by paying money for the things they do not wish to do which oftens reults in unfair compensation and exploitation. While this being a major issue it has also researched that with a rise in such employment opportunities people are ignoring to learn daily basis tasks which is necessary for survival. For example, a maid is hired to wash clothes in a washing machine, which itself contradicts the purpose of the invention of the washing machine.

In conclusion, investing in others to do your job creates opportunities, I believe that it has a drawback of people leaving a very laidback lifestyle and not wanting to take responsibilties of such task. This also affects in a persons overall social and wellness growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The student addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing whether paying for chores is a good way to provide work and whether people should perform these tasks themselves. A clear position is established in the introduction and maintained throughout the essay. The ideas are generally relevant, covering economic benefits, employment opportunities, and potential negative impacts like a lack of personal responsibility and exploitation. However, some arguments lack deeper extension or more robust supporting details. For instance, the example of a maid using a washing machine is somewhat superficial. Nevertheless, all prompt requirements are met satisfactorily, corresponding well to the Band 6 descriptor where all parts are addressed with relevant ideas, even if some are slightly under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay is divided into four standard paragraphs, ensuring a logical overall arrangement. Cohesive devices are used to signal transitions between ideas, such as 'On one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'In conclusion.' However, some referencing is slightly clunky or mechanical, and paragraph transitions occasionally feel abrupt. The flow of ideas within paragraphs is generally clear, but mechanical linking words sometimes substitute for smoother conceptual progression. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately to separate the contrasting viewpoints. This performance aligns comfortably with the Band 6 descriptors for cohesion and logical organisation.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common phrases like 'employment opportunities,' 'outsourcing help,' 'unfair compensation,' and 'laidback lifestyle.' However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'themeselves' instead of 'themselves,' 'househould' instead of 'household,' 'rathen' instead of 'rather,' 'comitments' instead of 'commitments,' 'necessarey' instead of 'necessary,' 'humanatarian aspects' instead of 'humanitarian aspects,' 'oftens reults' instead of 'often results,' and 'daily basis tasks' instead of 'daily tasks.' While these errors do not severely impede communication, their frequency prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. The lexical control is most consistent with a Band 5.5 or 6.0, settling safely at 5.5 due to the accumulation of spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing subordinate clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical inaccuracies are frequent. Examples include punctuation and agreement issues, such as 'Although they created employment opportunities people should take responsibiltiy...' missing a comma, 'Due to strict schedules and comitments to work people are not able...' lacking punctuation, and 'While this being a major issue it has also researched that...' which contains awkward passive construction and tense errors. Furthermore, articles and prepositional phrases are occasionally mismanaged. These errors can cause minor difficulty for the reader, but meaning is generally preserved. This fits the Band 5.5 profile, showing a blend of complex sentence attempts alongside persistent grammatical inaccuracies.
