IELTS Writing Task 2 question

It is sometimes possible to pay somebody to do things you don't want to do, or don't have time to do, for example, household chores or looking after children.

Is this a good way of providing work for others?

Should people do these things themselves?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

It is argued that, occassionally one could hire house help for performing their routine tasks, whenever they donot want or lack enough time to do so. It is positive in many aspects as it reduces extra workload of full-time workers reducing fatigue and anxiety. Furthermore, it creates additional part-time employements for poor people which enables them to fulfil their basic necessities.

The trend for hiring helpers for daily tasks has been increased to greater extent since many years. Most people particularly women are doing jobs in different sectors for financial stability consequently, they are unable to perform their regular chores such as laundry, cleaning and many more which makes them to hire help to perform these, and in return they pay extra charges for these tasks. On one hand, it helps them to solely focus on their business tasks or office work, eleviating the chances of error while on the other side it prevents them from extra fatigue which could be due to performing house chores.For instance, working women usually pay extra salaries to their workers to reduce the burden which assist them to perform better at workplace producing sutainable outcomes.

Additionally, in developing countries there is a significant portion of people who are unemployed and they seek part-time or overtime jobs to meet their daily expenses. The full -time employers or affluent class prefers to share their burden with the individuals who are in dare need of work causing them to organise their daily tasks and handling their children. While these types of work requires extra effort as engaging children is quite challenging and a huge responsiblity for care takers, so they charge excessive salary which helps them to meet their basic needs. For example, Besides salary the care takers usually gets excess home cooked food, fresh fruits and branded clothes which are more than a luxury for them.

To conclude, though performing house chores helps one to be active and energetic.

Performing households along with job needs extra energy and causes anxiety and stress-relatd issues, Hiring house helps is benefical for both as one can get enough help with routine task and the others get ufficient amount for their hardwork.
